Know before you read to far in this review, I want to say that this is not a gourmet stop. However this may be the best value in Las Vegas. A 3/4 lb hot dog on a bun and a medium soft drink for $2.49 + some extras a bit L8R.
The hot dog is HUGE and I mean HUGE. However it is always well steamed and placed in a very decent roll. This is a good tasting hot dog and very little, if any, back talk. You can add chili, & kraut (there you get the back talk) for a few extra pennys. All the condiments are available at a nearby counter and you dine at a counter top. Trust me when I say this is a very, very good bargain and I am sure you will leave well satisfied. BUT THERE IS MORE.
Leave the dining area and head for the lounge in the front of the casino for a free ice cream sundae with sauce or jimmies. Sit at a table and be entertained by none other than Elvis Presley (And you thought he was dead).
2 people, 2 lunches, 2 desserts, a show by the King and change back from a $5.00 bill. Man it just doesn't get any better than that.

Not much time to enjoy this -I head the Ho is closing November 16. I've seen the Ho dog, but never had the gumption to try it.

I hope the information is incorrect. If not and you are going to be in Vegas B4 it closes you MUST make a stop. This is an institution (the dog not the HO, although there have been Ho's around a long time in Vegas) and needs to be preserved.

A large Ferris wheel type Observation thing is going to be built on the site of the Ho.

I Heard About The Ferris Wheel Thing But Didn't Know Where It Was Going. I Had Breakfast At The Ho. Coffee, Juice, And Two Good Doughnuts For $1.49. Also The Riviera Has A Snack Bar With A .99 Menu And Isn't To Bad.

I have tried the 3/4 pound dog at the Ho and the half pounder at Slots-o-Fun next door and find the Slots-o-Fun dog to be a better tasting dog.(probably because they actually use better ~dog~ in the making...)
Seriously, give that one a shot too. A bit smaller and, in my opinion, tastier. Plus you can feel a little better about yourself for not eating that extra quarter pound.
Assuming that Slots-o-Fun isn't going to be spared either...
Will be a sad day in Las Vegas history. :(

They have the best and biggest cheap strawberry margarita that my mom and I had ever had in Vegas. Now I realize that there are others that probably have the same thing, but it was a tradition and we looked forward to going to the Ho and getting one.
what's going to be built there?

My husband got sick on the last hot dog he had at Slots-a-fun. Maybe we will try the one at the Ho before it closes.:) I thought that condos were being built at the Ho sight??

:( We have stayed at the Westward Ho for years, and are very sorry to see it closing. They will be closing on Nov.16th or17th at 5:00 p.m. We received a letter right before we left for Vegas the end of Sept. Everyone is right about the deals. We won't see that again, that's for sure, the way Las Vegas is aiming for the high rollers now.....

So sorry to see the Westward Ho go. I learned to play craps at the Westward Ho many years ago and it will always be very fond memory for me. No matter why I'm in Vegas, I always swing by the Ho to pay my respects.
It's a great mid strip place to gamble as it's easy walking distance to Slots-o-Fun and Circus Circus. Plus, it's right accross the street from another famous Vegas watering hole, The Peppermill.
Love seeing the new places go up but hate seeing Vegas lose some of it's character.
Cheers!
