We just received an offer for a free room 2 of the 4 nights we'll be in vegas in Feb. @ GVR. The 3rd night is only $80. The 4th night is unavailable. We'll be staying Friday night on the strip. We decided to switch from Monte Carlo to GVR... can't beat free. I know that nothing is truly free, but at least we're starting out ahead. We stayed at Red Rock last visit and loved it. It is more important to have a place to stay at that we can actually affford to gamble rather than to just be on the strip to be on the strip. We're very excited. Has anyone stayed @ GVR? How does it compare to Red Rock? Do they have $5 or lower table games?
Can't wait. WOOHOO!!!

Green Valley Ranch is awesome. Stayed there two weeks ago. I would say the rooms are as comfortable as the rooms at the Bellagio. The rooms aren't as modern as Red Rock, but they are nice. They have kind of a Tuscan feel to them. The bed is so comfortable with a down comforter, the rooms are large and they have a lounger and table, desk and safe. The bathrooms are large and the towels are so fluffy. You'll also get free slippers.
They have a coffee pot and the usual mini bar stuff on a table near the foyer. The maid knocked for turn down service and gave us free energy drinks and ice. Drank mine and headed back to the casino for an all nighter..lol.
Just make sure they don't give you a room near Whiskey because you'll hear the music.
I love their casino. They have low table limits and lots of slots that aren't on the strip. I played for hours and hours without losing. Didn't really win, but didn't lose, either. The locals are a riot here, they'll tell you not to play certain machines because they don't pay. They'll point you to another area. Saw a lot of quad aces with kickers on video poker. I didn't hit them, but they were hitting a lot.
If you like Italian food, eat at Terra Verde. The buffet and coffee shop are also good.
Have fun!

Rose,
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like we will love it. With low limits and interesting VP and slots to choose from how can we lose. :D And we'll have a car so we can always drive elsewhere. We are planning a tour of all the station casinos this trip. We have not visited a station casino we didn't like.. so why not frequent them, use our Boarding Passes and maybe earn some comps.
We're excited about trying the Italian restaurant. I hear the chef was the winner of Hell's Kitchen 3. Very cool.
