I thought I'd come out of lurkerdom for a minute and introduce myself. I've been a newsletter subscriber for a few years and and off-and-on forum lurker.
I'm in the Phoenix area and I've never flown to Vegas - I always make the drive (which I actually enjoy).

I went on a family vacation to Vegas when I was about 8, lost my little brother at Circus Circus, and never went back until I was in my 30s. My ex always used to go up there for DefCon. For our 12th anniversary, he finally decided to take me up there (not for DefCon but during Christmas) and that was our one and only adult "real" (as oppossed to staying with some relatives somewhere) vacation in all our time together. It was awesome - we had a jacuzzi room at the Luxor and had such a great time. I was hoping we'd go back for our 13th anniversary but I ended up getting a divorce, instead.

That was initially a bummer but then I made it a point to have family vacations with my son in Vegas. That first year, we stayed at the Flamingo in August and then in December we went to the Luxor. I've also stayed at the Monte Carlo but my "home" hotel seems to be the Orleans. I really like that place! I go sometimes with my son (he's 20), sometimes I'll go with friends. My next trip will be with my 2nd mom.

I don't particularly like to drink and I don't gamble much - after playing $40 or so in a slot machine I get bored. People wonder then why I like to go. There's so much *fun* stuff to do! Sometimes I'll plan a trip up there with a friend if there's a cool exhibit at one of the hotel museums (Bellagio, Venetian). There's all the touristy stuff (fountains, volcanos, gondola rides), the other museums (didn't think I'd care for the Liberace Museum but that was quite cool and the Atomic Museum was also very cool) and shows! I've been to V the Ultimate Variety Show several times, saw We Will Rock You right before it closed and have also been to some of the afternoon magic shows and Second City.

So anyway, that's me and Vegas in a nutshell! :)

Hello, I live in Buffalo,NY. I try to visit Vegas twice a yr (in the spring & fall). Since I've been getting to Vegas, I have fallen in love with it, especially the weather. I prefer glaze on my doughnut not not my car. Our cars have been glazed 3x so far. I was thinking of moving out there, but I am currently unemployed. So that move will have to wait. My family also enjoy the sites and sound of Las Vegas.
