I was at the Mirage 2x this last week. Each time for a Danny Gans show.

The carpet in a good portion of the casino has changed. It's a pretty simple pattern with shades of brown. However, i will say this--as you walk ... you DO notice subtle little bumps in it....... as if ................... something between the pad & carpet was left in there!? It's subtle, but you notice it. I'm wondering if it's where electrical hookups were covered with carpet perhaps. Nothing you'll trip on --- but, like i said -- you do notice it.

The aquarium is FINALLY OPEN again! It looks great with coral, plants, and a ton of fish. This is the one behind the registration desk.

The salon/spa still isnt open. Well, at least that one their planning to open. Like greg said - it's just the continuous draping of sheetock with the Spa's logo on it (as you walk towards the pool).

The carnegie deli was 1/2 full on wed nite.
The carnegie deli was 90% full on satur nite.
CPK - basically the same thing for each day.

The buffet on saturday had a line of about 25 persons waiting to get in. Not bad.

I'll still say 'this' .. the Mirage is a bit dark compared to other casinos. It really is.

On each day i saw a TON of tables with $25 minimums for blackjack. Probably 7 tables with a $10 minimum.

Dice on saturday had two tables $100 min.
4 tables $25 min
2 tables $10 min

Caribe Cafe had ZERO WAIT to get in on each night.

I really hate that the mirage has one single bar that you can go up to & order a drink and be on your way (or stay and do bartop vp). The only one remaining is the 1/4 cirlce one near the sportsbook. Otherwise, there's some lounge / bar / thingy with headache type music near the entrance of Kokomo's ---- and, then one near Samba. Oh well.

I played dice on saturday night - and was offered a drink only once in a span of 40 minutes.

VP pay schedules are terrible (well, most of you know that). LOL. I even walked thru the high-limit slot area. THis is the section where the old BACCARAT BAR was located :( Even, the vp paytable for a $5 j.o.b. machine was 8/5. Pretty sad.

I still like the mirage - dont get me wrong. The service level is high - and nearly all of the staff is pretty dang friendly.

Another great walkthrough. I agree that the Mirage casino seems a lot darker than most places. But like you said, it's still a nice place.

I've had lousy luck gambling there, though. Haven't done too much, but never take anything away.

Can't wait to see the rennovated aquarium.

Thank you, thank you...I'm looking forward to seeing the aquarium
when I'm over there for LOVE...it sounds better than ever.
You really think the Mirage is dark...darker than t.i.?...they have some
real dark areas around their slots at t.i.

Ya know... i think what it comes down to is the lighting @ the tables. The bellagio must use some kind of a space-age bulb or something with their high ceilings? But, the tables are very brightly lit -- roulette, dice, you name it.

Will have to agree about the T.I. -- parts of it seem like a dark alley, lol.
