View Full Version : Samba Brazilian Steakhouse - Mirage
OK, we've been here twice and are going back for a third visit this month. This place is awesome if you're a carnivore. Although Samba offers a full a la carte menu, the prize here is the "Rodizio Experience" for $30 per person.
The meal begins with fresh breads, dipping oils and a bottomless bowl of Samba salad. A very good intro, but don't stuff yourself on this. When the first round is over, waiters bring marinated and roasted meats on long skewers to your table and carved tableside. These include sirloin, flank steak, salmon (or other fish of the day), chicken, turkey with bacon and pork and pineapple to name but a few. Side dishes include black beans and yellow rice, creamed spinach and plantains.
You are given a two sided disc, red and green, to place on the table. So long as the green side is up, waiters continue to bring the meats to the table. When you've had enough, turn the disc to red and roll away.
Since several buffets are now well over $30, it's nice to be waited on in a nice room by attentive staff with such a quality meal.
Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

I'm so glad you're reporting on this restaurant. I'm going there this Nov. with my husband, my father-in-law and his companion. I heard it was good, but your review definately has me looking forward to going there! I just hope I can eat $30 worth of meats, then go to a show afterwards! I know my hubby will go for it!
Thanks for the good rating review!

We LOVE this place as hubby takes care of about $45 worth of food and I cover the other $15. I love the sugar cane margarita type drinks they serve there. Order a pitcher of them and drink up. :o

We ate at Samba last visit and definitely recommend it! It compares favorable to Brazilan BBQ places we have tried in the NY area.
Enjoy!

Although we didn't make it there THIS trip, Samba is one of our favorites. Thanks for the review.

My wife and I are big fans of Brazzillian BBQ's and we would have to rank Samba grill right up there with the best. Truely an experience for the first timers. Just be careful ... pants may not fit the next day :)

Run, don't walk, to the Samba. I make it an annual trip. What a unique and creative dining experience. AND THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL!!! But you have to do the rodizio experience, an array of sites, smells and tastes worth every penny!!:D
We returned for a third visit on 10/22/05, and the food was as good as ever!
The Samba salad, bread and dipping sauces to begin the meal were quite good. But, some in my party ignored the salad, waiting for the meats to come.
And come they did. The first waiter brought chicken, turkey wrapped in bacon and flank steak. Each was tender, tasty and well marinated. The next brought over pork and pineapple and a third, sirloin. We attacked the meats so fast, that we seemed to ignore the sides of carrots, black beans and rice, creamed spinach and plantains.
By the time the waiters stopped circling our table, we were stuffed. Cost of the meal, $31.95. This is less than some of the higher end buffets, better quality and an attentive wait staff that brings the food to you.
We've eaten here each of the last three years and have been impressed each time. We will be back in 2006.

Just how long does it take to "experience" this wonderful meal? I'm going there in mid Nov. and have a 5:30 reservation, but we have to leave by 7:30 for a show across town. Will 2 hours be enough time to enjoy ourselves without rushing? I hope so because I can't wait to try this place!
thanks

Two hours is more than enough. You should be stuffed by the hour or hour and a half mark. Service was quick when I was there.

Have done Yolies and Rumjungle which were quite good but never Samba.
BTW and this is waaaaaaay off topic, APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!, but best one i have been to ( and at 40% LESS!!!! than those in LV) is in the Cape on Main St Hyannis. Called Brazilian Grille or something to that effect-- right near the Melody Tent--. INCREDIBLE food, great drinks and a small buffy for lunch and dinner thats DIRT cheap if you dont want the mixed grille.
