I wouldn't bet on it. You still have time to get a cc in your own name, or be added to his account under your name with your own card. If that doesn't work for you, maybe you can take a cab to your destination and hubby can pick up the car when he gets there.

All I can say is the best thing to do is call and ask them directly - a friend and I are going to Vegas in less than 2 weeks. He is arriving 3 days before me and I am staying an extra 2 days. I called and asked if I could return the car for him, and they said as long as my name was on the rental agreement, and they had a copy of my license, it was fine. So we will stop by on our travels before he leaves and add me to it, saves a lot of money as the weekly rate is better than the daily rate.

No you will not be able to rent the car unless, you hold the credit card in your name plus you have to be 25.

The credit card we use mostly is in hubby's name but my name is on it as a user. We always book a car in my name because I have more days booked on my Blue Chip card and we can get free days on it.

Hubby is always driving the vehicle and I just hand the attendant the papers and they look it up and I sign for it. Never a problem. This is at Thrifty. Don't know about others.

Anybody can check the car in.

But I would suggest that you rebook in your name if you will be the one picking it up.

Alamo and National accept debit cards, on pickup, as long as you have proof of an airline ticket (eticket or hard copy from the airline. Put your flight number in the reservation) And no matter what, the reservation has to be in the name of the credit or debit card user. When making the reservation make sure you read the rules.
