It's not news to anyone on the site that I loved the Frontier and was deeply upset when it closed. I read in the Newsletter that the implosion will be 13th November at 2.30am. Will anyone be in Vegas at this time? Hopefully it will be online afterwards just like the Stardust was.

RIP Frontier!

I'll be there - and have a 'feelin or two' in my stomach N heart.

The tower (s) are certainly smaller - that's for sure. They've been fully gutted (just like the stardust did).

I am missing the implosion by 11 hours. So unless there is a delay to the following night, there will just be a pile of rubble by the time I hit the strip :(

Even thinking of the 'ole place being a pile of rubbish brings a tear to my eye. :( I hope the staff have all managed to get new jobs by now.

Will you be taking any pics Matthew? If so, I'd love to see them. :)

Well, jacqui, picts of the implosion itself are tough. It probably will take just 9 seconds to let the thing fall. And, my digital camera wont let me get more than one shot (mayyyyybe two).

I'll see what i can do.

I wish i took some picts inside before the doors closed. *sigh*

Gilley's was a gem, jacqui.

I just have a feeling that the turnout will be minimal for this 'one'.

This guy has a lot of cool pics of the Frontier during its long history, including its final days open as well as folowing its dismantling.

He has a lot of cool stuff on this site including extensive pages on the Stardust, Barbary Coast and Moulin Rouge.

Thanks Charlie! I got some pics of inside when it was just closing but it will be good to see the dismantling of the old soul. Thanks!
