Well its 37 days til My husband and I go to Vegas for our belated honeymoon from almost 3 years ago! We are looking for a place to have a romantic dinner (money is no object), however we are steakhouse kinda eaters, not into fancy food. We want a romantic restaurant that offers everyday type foods I guess. We have considered the top of the strat and Paris, but I am looking for any other suggestions... :D

I know you have already thought about the strat and are looking for other ideas, but, in all our times in Vegas, the most romantic dinners we have had were there. The food is good, the service great, and the vier is unmatched. I think that if you want a good steak in a great setting, you can't do better. Congrats, and have fun!

Delmonico's is awesome!! My husband loves a great steak and a good bottle of wine and they have NEVER disappointed us in the 8 or 9 times we have eaten there! It is in the Venetian kinda out of the way in the back of the casino. Wait staff is great and very knowledgeable if you have questions about the menu! Good luck!!

The name escapes me but the restaurant on top of the Rio had amazing steaks, exceptionally attentive service and a fabulous view. We were able to take our drinks outside while we waited for our dinners. Our waiter was fabulous and came to get us BEFORE he brought our food out.

Also Nine in the Palms had terrific food (Kobe burgers....mmmmmm) and amazing service. Probably not the most romantic setting but I'd still recommend it.

Enjoy your trip.

i have suggestions.

1. the tillerman is located east of the strip on flamingo, just past maryland. any cab driver knows where it is. locally owned for many years. great steaks and seafood. real trees growing inside. and if the temperature is not too hot, they open the roof at night so you are eating under the stars. visit their website: www.tillerman.com to see their menu.

2. if you are in for a drive and an adventure, drive out to jean, about 22 miles south of the strip. the goldstrike has a very small, intimate steak house. prime meats. great service. delicious lobster bisque, but a bit on the salty side. dark wood, burgundy leather. like an old chicago or old new york steak joint if you're in to retro. that's my choice for my birthday every year. very quiet. sinatra, bennet. some jazz in the background. i am recommending the steakhouse--not the casino. it is owned by mgm-mirage-mandalay and equipped with their hand-me-down machines. but the steakhouse is a tribute to the tradition of steakhouses, in my opinion.

3. locally, there is ruth's chris steakhouse. actually there are two here in vegas. one in a mall on maryland east of the strip and the other on flamingo west of the strip. both are the same. steaks start around $35. everything is ala carte. cocktails are excellent. appetizers, while delicious, are probably more than you should have if you are ordering steak. the steaks are HUGE and served on sizzling plates and you have to cover yourself in front with the napkin to keep the sizzles from spotting you shirt/blouse. and if you're in to sides, share one because they are very generous portions. because ruth's chris tends to be a popular spot for people in town for trade shows and conventions, sometimes the atmosphere is not conducive to romance. and the tables seem to be too close together--for my preference anyway.

4. the top of the world at the top of the stratosphere hotel is a fine steak place. the restaurant rotates so you can see all the lights of this great valley. outside the restaurant is a cocktail lounge which typically has a great singer or combo and is a great spot to cap off a romantic dinner.

5. by far the most popular and most written about steakhouse in vegas these days is n9ne (that's right, n9ne) located high in the palms hotel. it's where brittney, brad, george, shaq and you-name-'em all go. i haven't been there yet as i avoid the celebrity stuff and prefer quieter rooms. but n9ne is a "must do" for many with the budget.

6. although i don't remember it's name, the steakhouse at the flamingo is a nice room too with great meat, good service. i've been there for business dinners several times and always enjoyed it. dark, comfy. like a steakhouse should be.

this is a big steak eaters city so wherever you go, enjoy.

We have eaten at several Steak Houses, but for what you say you are looking for The Top of the World at Strat should fill your bill. The food is very good, but you can't beat the view. At a 6:30 seating you can see the sunset behind the mountains and then see the city light up as the restaraunt revolves. Dinner for 2 was $115.

Although I've never eaten there, I've heard Prime at Bellagio is FANTASTIC... just be sure to ask for a seat by the windows so you can see the fountains show.

Probably the best steak I've ever had BY FAR was at Del Frisco's... there is one a couple of blocks off of the strip... Somewhere off Flamingo road, I think. The ambiance in there is awesome... food is great... service is excellent... Truly a first class experience.

I also vote for Prime. Food is excellent and the service is the best. Delmonico's is a little loud for a romantic dinner.

I have the perfect place! You must got to the Boa steakhouse at the top of the forum shops. Ask for a table on the balcony and the view is incredible. Its a little pricey but the steak is great as is everything else. I think you will lke it!

The restaurant at the top of the Rio is the Voodoo Cafe and Lounge.

I was not that impressed with the food at the Top of the World. The view was awesome, the Martinis were awesome, the food for me was very disappointing. That said though it could be just a matter of taste. I don't order steak when I go out, I can cook a steak as good as any restaurant, I had the stuffed veak there which was very very dry. I prefer ordering items I can not make myself. I think that Olives in the Bellagio would be a great romantic dinner especially with the fountains. I also like eating outdoors at Canaletto at the Venetian. I have not been to any at the Wynn yet, but Bartalottos (sp?) sounds incredible. Good luck, I hope it is great wherever you go.

Another nice place to try would be Rosewood Grille. It's on the strip between two hotels that escape me but directly across the street from the Monte Carlo. It's got it's own entrance so you don't have to go through a huge casino or hotel to get to it. Kind of a nice feature when you're in stilettos! LOL! The food is excellent but ambiance is kinda lacking.

The Eiffel Tower restaurant is amazing. If price is no object (the prices there are real knee-wobblers -- two cosmopolitans at the bar while waiting were $26) it's probably one of the two or three best restaurants I've ever eaten in. My wife and I ate there for our fifth anniversary dinner last month. The food was outstanding, the staff were wonderful and attentive without being a pain, but the best part is the view. We got there at about sunset. Watched the sun set over the Strip. And then watched the Bellagio fountains across the street, every fifteen minutes, for the entire time we were there. We'd eaten at Aureole on an earlier anniversaty trip and it's also amazing, but for romantic, I'd take Paris any day.

Delmonico Steakhouse (Venetian)

Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare (Wynn)

Picasso (Bellagio)

Okada (Wynn)

SW Steakhouse (Wynn)

All are great, high end choices. All serve real food (stuff that you can eat, not just look at). None are cheap but if you're going for it, go for it.

Stafanos is a wonderful Italian restaurant upstairs at the Golden Nugget. Great food, romantic atmosphere, and singing waiters that make you feel like you are in Italy itself. This is the link:

I found the Picasso at Bellagio to be very romantic and the best restaurant I've ever been to. Food, service and ambiance cannot be compared to any other restaurant! It is expensive, but I have paid more elsewhere and it didn't compare! It was my wedding anniversary and we got the table nearest the window, Picasso paintings all around, quiet, no crowds awaiting seats, as soon as you walk in your table is ready for you, they do not overbook! I called 2 1/2 mos. in advance for my reservation. Try this place...it's the best!

Top of the Stratosphere or the Top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris. Overlooks the Bellagio fountains.

Have fun

Surprised no one mentioned Michael's at the Barbary Coast which has long been rated as one of Las Vegas' most exclusive restaurants.

Also Al Dente at Bally's is a very romantic Italian restaurant and won't take all your vacation money just for one dinner.

I am very good friends with the Maitre D..IIario and he will go out of his way to make you feel extra special. Arrangements can be made in advance if you want to do any special extras for a veru romantic evening. :)

If going for romance, top of the World is the place IMO. Wifey and myself go there every trip. Make a 7:30 resservation, and get there an hour early. have a couple of drinks at the bar. When you get seated the sun will start setting. Durring your meal you will see it go from light to dark. This view is UNreal. The food is good enough . The service is GREAT!!
