View Full Version : Cheap cigarettes?
Is there any casino or store in Las Vegas that sell cigarettes for less? A year or two ago Wild, Wild West Casino sold cigarettes for cheap; but, I don't know if that's the case anymore.
When playing at some casinos, they would comp cigarettes. Is that still the case? Which casinos?
Thanks. Greg

I was staying at the Luxor this past May. In the high limit room they will give you free smokes while playing. They even brought me another pack when I was coloring up, and I still had almost the whole pack left.
I have found I can get them at the Fitz for a lot less per hand. It helps if you have a relationship with the pit guys.

One of the members said Harrah's still comps cigs. I think they said they ask the drink girl and tip $1. Is this true?

There are cigarette girls/guys in Harrahs. When I don't see one I ask a drink person or security and they scrounge somebody up. They check your Players Card. If you have enough play, they will give you a pack. Yes, I tip them $1.
There are several other casinos that do the same thing. I think the Trop may do it. When in doubt, ask. All they can do is say "no".
Hubby and I always buy a carton a piece before we go and pack them. Seems we smoke more in casinos. Especially when playiing slots.

a couple of suggestions:
take a vacation in the british islands. you can buy premium cigarettes (marlboro, etc) for $10.60 a carton and ship them back home via snail mail for real savings.
terrible's hotel has a gift shop and often run specials on cigarettes there. call ahead and ask what the price for your brand is. if you have a player card there, might be even cheaper if you have a pin number and look for specials on the card kiosk right outside the gift shop. not much else in the gift shop worth having but food comps/discounts are great. terrible's also accepts your cigarette coupons.
there are numerous cigarette shops in and around las vegas. almost all of them post their prices near the curb, sometimes in the window. these places are usually cheaper than 7-11's, but there are some convenience stores who run specials. also, use coupons. and of course, the off brands are way less.
DO NOT think you will save at the Indian reservation north of town. way more expensive. been there, didn't do that.
DO NOT go to a supermarket, drug store or walmart. way more expensive there, too.
I remember being at Castaways and they comped a friend of mine a pack of cigarettes while we were playing at a $3 table. It probably helped that we were just about the only people in the place. A couple months later they were out of business. Go figure.

The Coast Casinos (Orleans, Barbary Coast, etc.) comp cigarettes to $5 players at all table games. I've even had other players (non-smokers) ask for cigs for me at a Pai Gow table.

We always bring our own that we buy at duty free, but I know a lot of you don't travel internationally. Try Terribles, we got stuck there one trip because of a plane delay and we couldn't believe the price of liquor and smokes very reasonable.
