anyone remember the Castaways Hotel and Casino which was in the downtown area? They used to have a free fantastic 50/60's musical reivew. Is it still there??and do they still have the review? Thanks

The Castaways (formerly The Showboat) has been closed and vacant for quite a while now.

Last I heard is that Station Casinos bought it and they either plan to demolish it or completely re-do it to a typical Station Casino type hotel.

I haven't heard anything new, this info was in the RJ around October of last year....

"Sixteiesmaniea" was the name of a band that worked
there...lots of tunes form Stones, Beatles, Doors, etc.
with little costume changes to go along with it...
I haven't heard about them for a while...

According to their website, "Sixtiesmania is currently on a hiatus but will be returning to a Las Vegas location soon with a new and exciting show".
