The Silverton

When my wife and I were in Vegas in August we stopped by a hotel/casino the Silverton just south of the strip. It seemed like a very nice place even though we didn't stay there. It remindered me of a ski lodge sort of rustic. It had the biggest sporting goods store I,ve ever seem attached to it Bass Sporting Goods. They sell everything. We ate at the buffet and found the food very tasty even though the selection offered wasn't as much as many Vegas buffets. Overall we thought it to be a place we might not ind staying at. Anybody stay there and can tell us more?

Stayed at the Sivlerton many years ago, when it was called BoomTown. The casino has undergone a major expansion since then, and it is, like you say, very nice. We stayed right across the I - 15 freeway at the Monarch Cancun for a week about 3 weeks ago.
The casino looks nince, and the food in the coffee shop was plentiful and quite good. Also enjoyed the Bass shop. Someone told us that this is the flagship store of their whole operation.
As to the rooms, they may have been renovatred since I used to stay there, but they are about standardf size, without a lot a deluxe type amenities. Bathrooms were small. Not a bad place to stay theough. Friendly employees,etc.

I love Silvertons, Good gambling, good food, great employees, great sport shop. Every time we go to LV we stop off at Silvertons and have stayed there also. The rooms have been redone so it has a feel of a mini suite or a very nice room. The only problem is its location so far from downtown and strip but if you like the quiteness, Silvertons the wayto go. If you are going to stay there you might want to pick up a American Casino guide book at you local book store and use the buy one room and get one free coupon and the 2 for 1 buffet coupon also. Buy using both coupons you get your moneys worth and have more coupons to spend in vegas. I recommend the hotel to all my friends and they have stayed there and really liked it.
