Just looking for some advice on good bars. We are not looking for dance clubs...just a good bar that may have some fun entertainment. I have heard that the dueling piano bar in NYNY is fun...any other ideas? Any places with good drink specials?

The Dueling Pianos at Harrah's is a lot of fun. It used to be much less crowded and without a cover charge (NYNY is both) but don't know if that is still the case. Right next door is the outdoors Carneval Court, with "flair" bartenders (juggling bartenders) and lots of fun stuff

We also liked The Coral Reefe Lounge at Mandalay Bay - live music every night. There's a couple other bars with music there, so you can walk around and choose the scene you like.

Drink specials? If you mean cheaper drinks , not special recipes, don't think you'll find many "happy hour" type specials - every hour is happy hour in Vegas :D

The only one that comes to mind is I hear there's 25c martini special at lunch at Commander's Palace at the Aladdin.

Anyone out there know of drink specials?

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (at the Flamingo) its fun to watch the margarita volcano erupt (it has something to do with a mermaid)

And if you like country I've heard that the new Toby Keith's I Love This Bar has cowboybooted girls dancing on the bartop.

Guess that was two more things.

Harrahs has twins playing dueling pianos most nights and the Carnival Court is right there next to it. There are other pianists that play there regularly and they all take requests. There is always something going. Sometimes karoke. Everyone is always having a good time there, young and old.

Toby Keith's is my destination this year. . . . As for others, the Rio has a little casino bar to the right of Masquerade whatever as you walk in . . . Great views of the shows and sky parade, and great for people watching . . .

i was at jimmy buffets margaritaville last year and upstairs was so loud and annoying we couldnt hear each other talk so we left. the drinks were over priced and watered down.if your near treasure island try kahunaville. that place rocks!or the pub and brewery at the monte carlo. great beer and food and turns into a nightclub with dj later.

Try Gilley's in the New Frontier, if you like country music. They often have good entertainers.

Toby Keith's is fun (we were there mid-day though) and the beer is COLD!! :D Voodoo Lounge at the Rio is a cool place to hang out at too! The view is spectacular and the drinks are yummy!! They have some very nice looking cocktail waitresses as well!! There's a lounge at the Mirage that has awesome live music but can't rememebr the name of it. It's a smaller casino so just follow the sound of the music!! LOL!

Anybody ever hit the swanky old lounge acts? They're usually good for a laugh, although a bit depressing...

I really want to check out some downtown stuff like that, with some washed up crooner. Classic!

Gotta go with Carnival Court! Happy hour is great there and what a wonderful place to party and meet people. It's the big tent between Harrahs and Imperial Palace. :-)

Since you can roam around drinking, Vegas is the world's largest outdoor cocktail party! Makes for one very large bar!
