Have fun posting any Deals or Specials that you think our Forum readers might benefit from. Please remember that there is to be no personal advertising or direct advertising will be allowed.

Direct advertising is defined as posting a link to which a person or a company would make a profit from what is posted as that is not in context to what the Forum is about.

I realize that airlines, hotels, travel sites, restaurants, etc will make a profit from what is posted but that is within the context as to why this Forum was set up.

I have to be very picky about what is allowed and what is not allowed to be posted here so please do not take it personally if I have to remove a post.

Many thanks to Steve for opening this forum despite some misgivings. I am hoping folks will post special deals and offers they run accross. I wish I knew of some special offers to post but alias, I don't.

Elsewhere on these boards there is a posting about some very attractive $100 per night prices at the Venetian available on their web site in October and November.

Anyway, if anyone comes accross something really good, post it!

I really like this idea, but I'am not sure what is and isn't allowed  so I guess I'll check back to see how things go.
Questions like.....what is the best web site for airfare?.....which rental car company has the best rates?? are questions like that ok? or is this just for "specials" like food, and rooms?.......thanks, jerry

No as these should be put in the Members Need Help Forums.

or is this just for "specials" like food, and rooms?.......
Yes, just this type.

This will be a trial and error process for while a certain posts will not be allowed.

I'll try to give you an example of what won't be allowed:
"Steve owns a las Vegas T-Shirt company that is selling Las Vegas T-Shirts for $5.00 each. Since Steve would be directly making* profit by this post it would not be allowed to remain up. On the other hand if someone posted at the Members Need Help Forums, "Does anyone know where I can get cheap Las Vegas T-Shirts?" than there is no problem with a post about Steve's T-Shirt Shop.

I hope this helps clear things up a bit.

This idea might work for many of you. :) I am trying it. If you order a minimum of $300 in Traveler's Checks which comes to you in the form of a credit card, AMEX will send you a companion ticket good on one of 6 major airlines for travel within the continental U.S. There is a one-time service charge of $14.95 for this which is worth it for a companion ticket. This ticket can be used for fares in low season which cost a minimum of $349 (before taxes and other security charges) and a minimum of $379 in high season. It will be valid until Nov. 6, 2006, more than a year from now. With the price of gas, I am finding that the cheapest fare I can get from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Las Vegas around Christmas is about $360  for one person. If I can get a 2 for 1, that would be great. But hurry. You only have a few more days to order as the offer ends in 3 days-Oct. 15. I am not sure of the site, but do a Google search for "AMEX Traveler's checks" and you will see the first link. Click on that and it will take you to the site. You'll see a picture and link on the right which talks about the free ticket. Click there. I am not sure if you have to own an AMEX card to take advantage of the offer. Let me know if anyone gets a good deal with this.

I always use nwa.com for the best non-stop flight deals from Detroit to Vegas. You may have to play around with the dates a bit (a day before/day later return, etc), but usually pay around $200 round-trip. We paid just $220.00 for our November 16-19th flight, non-stop, but it went up to $391.00 a week later. You just need to book about 6 weeks in advance and know the price range your looking for. I expected to pay more because of the fuel increases, but was very happy with my price and the schedule is great too...no red-eye flights! kimimurad
