4 times now for Elton and the Eagles only on the Hell Freezes Over DVD.
If you don't have tickets now, I would be surprised if you're going to...
Elton's best bang for your buck is in the First Mezzanine, about $200.
after the tax and service charge. Almost $300. for the center Rear Orchestra.
As good as the Eagles are, Eltons show is really something!!! Lots of hits,
the giant LED screen and other surprises...very cool.

If I were getting to choose, I would choose Elton John. His Red Piano show will have more pizzazz than the Eagles. When Elton performs, he PERFORMS. The Eagles will just stand around and sing, plus they are getting a little old and some of their voices are not what they used to be. Glenn Frey really has to strain just to hit the mid-range notes. Besides you can catch them on cable.
Edit by her other half: Eagles,Eagles,Eagles. Can't stand Elton.

I'd go see Elton John. I never saw him in Vegas but I have seen him in Chicago and he was outstanding.

...again 'tinytex', you better make up your mind soon. Elton's tickets have been on sale for quite a while now and who knows if there's any seats left worth spending his ticket price on. Check out the Colosseum's seating chart and keep this in mind....As you view the stage, Elton is on the Left side of
the stage. If your only seat choices are on the far left, you'll be looking at
his back and watching him on the monitor screens.

I saw Elton in July. He puts on a great multi-media show. Many surprises and visual things to watch for on stage or on screen behind him.
The show ran about 90 minutes or so. He sang many of his famous tunes. He's not getting any younger (neither am I though), so the voice isn't quite what you may remember, but all-in-all a great show.
We sat middle left and thought those seats were great. We were in row 10 on the main floor, I think.
The seats were Pr iiiiiii cy, with a captial P. They tipped the scales at about $295 with all the ticketmaster type fees. But the show was An Experience and would give significant bragging rights, I think.

We are in Vegas the same time. Have seen Elton in concert and he was great. We have tix for the Eagles as we have always wanted to see them live. Yes you can watch them on cable, but it's just like watching a sporting event, where would you rather be. It's alot to do with the atmosphere of being there. We can't wait 7 days til touchdown!!!!

I've seen both Elton John and the Eagles, neither in Las Vegas. Elton was by far the best show. The Eagles bored me and I am a fan. I could have listened to their CD and enjoyed it just as much and saved $200 bucks. I agree with GREGRIO, you better make up your mind quickly or you want be seeing either.

Thanks everyone for all your replys. We decided to go see Elton John(with my persistance!)I wish my husband had decided to let me have my way when the tickets were cheaper!!These two tickets cost almost as much as our stay at the LVHilton for 4 days. This will be an early birthday/Christmas present.(Did that sound believable cause my husband doesn't know the price yet.Anyone got a spare room to rent out, lol!):p

I saw Elton in LV last year and the Eagles years ago (Hell Freezes Over Concert). Both were excellent. Elton's LV show is great and our seats in the first mezzanine were just fine and better than the seats in the rear of the orchestra (in my opinion, anyway). It's certainly more of a production than the Eagles show (the one I saw), but the Eagles were no slouches either (what was that, 10 years ago?)
I'd give Elton the vote just because it's Vegas, baby

I just read in the paper that Elton's "Red Piano" show will be televised in January 2006. I know TV is not the same thing as seeing the show LIVE but it sure doesn't cost as much.

Elton has a special concert on NBC Dec 14th. It is his Red Piano concert from Caesar's.
Why pay that much money when you can get it free on Dec 14th.
But, saying that, there is nothing like a live show.

Elton's voice has changed through the years, but in my opinion it's much fuller and richer -- I'm kind of surprised by how light it is when I hear the early stuff on the radio.
In person it's very resonant, too -- I don't think that comes through on tv.

ELTON SOUNDS GREAT!...don't let anybody tell ya different.
In re. to the RED PIANO TV special...I'm curious to see how well
it comes off. There's NO WAY a television crew can capture what
you see in person...there's just too much going on, it's too big.
It'll be good I'm sure, but more of a tease for the real thing.

I don't want to date myself but I saw Elton John in his first US appearence at the old Fillmore East in Greenwich Villiage in NYC. He opened for Joe Cockers' Mad Dogs and Englishmen's tour (Leon Russell was in the band then). It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Concert price = $5.50 for orchestra seats!
My friends and I even joined the caravan for a week!
Those were the days.

Steve, that must have been one MIGHTY FINE SHOW!
I wonder what Leon is doin' these days....(hope I haven't missed anything)
It would never happen, but wouldn't it be great if Leon and Dr. John did the
dualing pianos at NYNY some night....
