Saw Wayne in July. His show was good, but his voice is going. Show not as good as we expected. His band is good but not as good as Clint Holmes or Gordie Brown. His new talent, Delisio???, was okay, but I wouldn't pay to see him. But if you have not seen Wayne, GO. He may not be around much longer.

If every entertainer in Vegas put as much into each performance as does this guy what a world. What he may lack in voice strngth he more than makes up with enthusiasm. Do yoursel a favor and go see a true Las Vegas Legand, you won't regret it.:)

Total waste of time, unless you like to see Wayne Newton deliver kisses to the ladies in the audience for over a half hour.
If it wasn't for his back up singers, he would be at the El Cortez entrance.

I saw Wayne Newton's show a couple of years ago w/sister who is a huge WN fan. I went in with an open mind (knew of Wayne only though my Arabian horse showing experience, Wayne has raised and sold many champion Arabian horses) and I was very pleased with the show. Our tickets had us sitting directly in front of the stage, I could have reached out and grabbed Ole Wayne by the ankle at any point!!! :D

Wayne is the old Vegas entertainment show, and that's what it is. He has a wonderful band, orchestra, back up singers and being up close to the stage, I could see that Wayne is working hard to deliver!!! Yea, it's true his voice isn't as strong as it used to be or has the endurance to deliver for two hours and he is a kissing bandit (that's old Vegas for sure, ever see footage of Elvis's shows? ), but you know what, those ladies LOVED it!

Wayne's style of show may not be for everyone, but he's not called Mr Las Vegas for nothing and he does give you his best effort of a show of singing, comedy and musical entertainment. Go with an open mind and remember Wayne is in his 60's now with a lifetime of preforming in Vegas and doing the USO tours too so he won't be Mr. Las Vegas forever! Personally, I'm glad that I can say that I saw him perform in my lifetime (born too late to see Elvis in Vegas unfortantely!:( ).

FYI, there was an aricle about Delisco(Entertainer winner) in the LVRJ last week. He is working the lounge at the Hilton and is charging almost $40 for his show. Sounds like a strange "million dollar contract". Show got a fairly decent review.

I agree about Newton's band they were awesome.

Hoss Lass, Im just sad I never got to see the Rat Pack back in the day.

When Newton, 63, opened at the Stardust on Jan. 24, 2000, he made a special announcement. He took off a bow tie -- worn on every opening night in every Las Vegas room he opened -- given to him by his mentor, Bobby Darin, and said he was retiring it because the Stardust was his last stop.

Then he surfaced at the LVHilton for that currant, limited engagement,
now the rumor is The Flamingo might be his next/last stop after
Gladys Knight ends her long run...
Wayne's an entertainer and Vegas is his stage. Everyone knows his voice
isn't there any more, but his fans still want to see him and his shows
still seem to work...how much longer he will...who knows. I'm sure he's asking himself the same question.

We saw Wayne Newton's show a year ago. True, his voice isn't what it used to be, but the show was really enjoyable.

He's upbeat, personable. friendly, we liked the band and the other featured singers. The audience loved it!

I'm so glad we saw it - he has been Mr. Las Vegas for a long time and we think he's a great representative of the city.

DH and I saw Wayne at the Stardust in October of '04. I'm not a huge fan, but I enjoyed the show, even though Wayne's voice is not what it used to be. (His range is very limited.) I DID, however, get a kiss. Kind of sweaty, but, hey, how many women can claim a kiss from Mr. Newton????

Yeah, I know...THOUSANDS!!!!! :)

I was surprised by the younger crowd that was there when I saw him at the Stardust. I went by myself and the table I was at had two coups who were younger than me.
I still want to see him again at the Hilton although Im not happy he is charging more than what he did at the Stardust.

Gotta see him just for that reason.

I'm not a fan at all....enjoyed the show. He puts a lot into it.

A great American he is.

Saw him at the Stardust lat April.

Stardust casino was very 'good' to us as well.

i agree with most people up here - Wayne had vocal cord surgery a few years ago and now CANNOT sing. Instead, he hams his way through an old style variety Vegas show, mostly introducing other performers and guest singers. The band is good - the oldschool schlock is sometimes amusing, but if paying full price, is really a big disappointment. He really should retire.
