Hello all, just wanted to get some information on the venetian... I am a 26 year old guy that wants to have some fun in vegas . I want to spend less than 1k TOTAL for the 2 and a half days I am there. me and my friends got reservations at the venetian for 2 days but I am having second thoughts about the hotel.... from what i have heard the tables are all expencive... the clubs are a bit to "high class" and the food is over priced and not that good... am I am making a mistake staying there? The place looks amazing but i dont know anything about their casino I personally love carrabian stud, poker, and black jack everyonce in a while... I have only been to vegas once before (new york new york last year ) thanks for any help....

I've stayed there twice and enjoyed both stays greatly. You can't beat their standard rooms. Very big with a step-down living room area and nicely appointed. One feature I liked was that you can check out through the TV and have your bill faxed to you in your in-room fax machine. Pool area is really nice, too. As for gambling, the table limits go WAY up after dinner. Mostly $15-$25 minimums. I always played the table games elsewhere. You are very close to everything mid strip and there is a pedestrian walkway over the strip that dumps you next to TI on the other side. As for food, their Grand Lux Cafe is very decent, not too expensive, and the menu is huge.

Not trying to be nasty but why did you book into The Ventian if you're worried about the expenses of staying there? It is an expensive place to stay.

As far as the tables go, there are $10 tables during the week but most of limits will go up towards the weekend.

As far as the Clubs, most Ultra-Lounges will cost about $20 to get into anyway so you're OK there.

The Grand Lux is probaly the least expensive reataurant there although they do have a small Food Court. You don't have to commit your meals entirely at The Venetian.

I hope this helps.

Have you thought about the Rio or the Palms? They are off the strip but there are always a lot of people in your age group, and they have some great clubs. At the Rio, food is not too expensive-two buffets, Italian, bar & grill, Mexican, coffee shops, steakhouse. Some unique shops that guys like. The Rio's rooms are 600 sq.ft (not luxurious, but nice), there are 5 pools, several clubs, and they have a free shuttle to Harrahs if you want to walk the strip. They have some of the best shows in town that are less expensive than the Venetian. During the week and/or wee hours of the morning you can find $5 tables. $10 tables are pretty common.

Haven't stayed at the Palms but hear it is nice. Just down the street from the Rio and a lot of Hollywood celebs hang out there. Have heard their steakhouse is really good.

Check out the Rio at playrio.com.

If you really want to stretch your $$ while in LV, try to stay at another strip hotel, They are many find hotels at 1/2 the price of the Venetian, or even less.
You can still do almost everything you want at the Venetian, except maybe visit the pool. Harrah's is almost next door, and there are other excellent spots nearby.

The Venetian is catering to certain clientle, but you get what you pay for. If you can afford to play at the casino, sign up for the card, you might be able to get a better rate next time. This is my favorite place to stay with out the kids, excellent restaurants and shops.

Hi - Venetian is our home away from home - we usually have the opportunity to visit Las Vegas twice a year and always stay there. We are going out in December and have the suite over the weekend for $149 per night and $100 for the third night. We love the set up in the suites and the elegance of the facility especially at Saint Mark's Square is a favorite of Joyce's. The turn down service in the evening is a nice touch.

The casino has really experienced and friendly dealers. The minimums are higher than other casinos but that is not usually an issue for those staying there and for others, there is a short walk to the Imperial Palace or Casino Royale if you are looking for lowere minimums.

I love their Sports Book and the folks there are super friendly especially the cocktail waitresses. You show your room key and they provide the Daily Racing Forms to all guests for free for all those who bet the ponies.

We usually have a quick breakfast in one of their quick service spots and it is good and reasonably priced. We never have lunch in Vegas and if we eat supper there we sometimes go on the high end and other times we go to Grand Lux which is more reasonably priced and the food is very good as is the service.

I think one of the main attractions for Vegas is that there are so many hotels available to meet everyone's needs and desires as we all are different. When I go out there, I want to be pampered a bit so we stay at the Venetian but if you are looking for a clean bed to sleep in there are so many less expensive options.

If you only travel once or twice a year, I would pamper yourself and stay at the Venetian - you will not be disappointed.

Good Luck

not sure why you booked at the Venetian if you wanted to save $.

it is a very hi- class hotel and the tables are high tho they can be high on the strip anyway.

for your age group-- i would go for the Palms. it is infamous for partying and their clubs plus it is a great place to stay.

the rooms are very nice and comfy.

that said, the Venetian just smells great walking into it and it is a fabulous place. it isn't too far to walk to other casinos that are midstrip. stay there but perhaps play and party and eat elsewhere, if u prefer. should experience as much of the strip as possible on your short stay.

Steve and I have NO luck at the Venetian - ever! And we tried, trust me, we tried. I have to agree with some of the other posters and suggest going to the Rio or The Palms or even to Harrah's. The Venetian is beautiful but it got that way with MY money!!

Venetian - very nice, good pool area, excellent high end restauants. BIG rooms. And all $$$.

Try this - let you budddies pay the big $. You can stay ACROSS THE STREET at TI - which is connected to V via bridge across the street. You're only gonna shower and sleep a little in the room anyway...limits are lower, more less expensive food choices, Tangerine (ultra lounge), next to the Mirage - --- TI has a lot going for it, especially if you're keepning it under a grand...believe me, you guys are gonna be all over the place; why pay big $ for a room? "Invest" it gaming...buy a few drinks...enjoy a decent meal...send your mom a postcard!

Sure, check out their room @ V. It will be nice. Nicer than your digs @ TI. But, it's all pretty much the same when you're asleep... Save your cash - bring your girlfriend back to LV, show her a good time, stay @ V (or another higher end property), spend more "time" in your room then...

Go where your demographic is - Hard Rock - Mandalay Bay - Palms.

Have fun. Be safe. Return often.

P.S. - The fact that I have had NO LUCK @ V has no (well, maybe a little...) bearing on these suggestions!
