We really do like the Ristorante Italiano at the Riviera:) . Northern Italian cuisine, service, and prices have always been great and we've been there probably a dozen times or more. It's just one of those places we make a special effort to get to at least once a year. If you are in the North strip area I don't think you would be disappointed in the Ristorante Italiano.

it is good enough for me. The Stage Deli at Ceasars Shops has a corned beef/pastrami combo sandwich that is absolutely wonderful. The free pickles are good also. I hear this is what Barbara orders at the one in the MGM.

Enjoy

The best meal I have had in Vegas was at Antonio's Italian at the Rio. Everything was really good and the service was excellent.

As far as other ethnic foods, none of the Mexican restaurants or buffets do it for us. We're used to good ole TexMex - that Southwestern stuff is too bland for us. We're not into Asian but my daughter raves about the Asian dishes at Cafe Lago buffet at Caesars. She also likes the French food at the Paris buffet, but it is just not that good to me.

As far as just good old American food, we like the Cafe at Harrahs.

For Italian, you have to head down to the Stratosphere, and take in an evening at Fellini's. Don't mess with an overpriced salad, get an order or two of the garlic cheese bread, any of their starters, and get either the Lobster and Asperigus Penne, or the chicken that's stuffed with Italian Sausage, cheese and herbs. You have to save room for Tiairmisu(spelling is not a strong point of mine). They have it shipped in from Italy, and it is as light as air.
Mexican food has been a choir to find good food, but we went to the Palms, to the Mexican restaraunt, not the best food, but it's your own fault if you leave hungry. they have a fresh salsa bar, with 6 or 7 different salsa's, and a bean dip that is worth the walk over to the bar. The sophapilla's are not the best, but after a few margaritas, you really don't care.
A night at the Houfbrau Haus is a lot of fun for German food. try to sit in the beer garden, with the band playing, and the maidens bringing you as much beer as you can drink. Be careful of the beer, it is higher octane than beer here in the states, so it will sneak up on you, but it is so good, it's beer done right. The food is awesome, and save room for apple struddle and ice cream.
There is a Brazillian place that opened last year in the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood that I hear is great, and I will find out, when I'm there in June.

I hope these places help you find some good food.

There's an excellent Thai spot called Lotus of Siam (http://www.saipinchutima.com/) that is quite wonderful! I strongly suggest those who have cars to try it and be sure to call ahead for reservations!

I couldn't agree more. This is my favorite non-steak house eatery in Vegas. A close second being The Pink Taco.

Our favorite Asian restaurant is Tsunami Grill in the Canal Shops at the Venetian. Their lettuce wraps are as good as anywhere we ever had them. Remember to use your Visa Signature card and get 20% off your meal when yopu make your reservation thru Visa Signature.

Very good Indian food on the Strip at Tamba in the Hawaiian Marketplace which is approximately across the Strip from the Monte Carlo, a bit north of MGM Grand on the east side of the Strip. Get the prawn pepper masala!

Also very good is Origin India in the CVS Plaza on Paradise just north of Harmon, across Paradise from the Hard Rock, i.e. on the east side of Paradise. The chicken bemisal is one among many fine dishes.

Shalimar on Paradise is also good. But avoid Gandhi on Paradise at Tropicana, which has bland food and painfully slow service.

I was a fan of Bahama Breeze off of the strip. The wife and I went to "Firefly on Paradise" and now have a new favorite place. It is a tapas restaurant and we now recommend it to all of our friends. The prices are extremely reasonable and a nice change from the buffets.

As I'm not ANY kind of gourmet :p , the best meal I've had in Vegas was at The Steakhouse at Circus Circus.
Just my 2 cents worth.

lately, gyros have been my favorite ethnic food. I love Paymon's on west Sahara. I get my gyro and Jasmine tea, and I'm happy. There is a new greek place on Buffalo & Charleston I've been wanting to try. I hear it's great--just haven't gotten there yet.

For Italian, I always loved Andriotti's at Harrah's. I haven't been back since the renovations, but from what I hear, I won't be dissapointed.

Great Philly cheesesteaks at "Pops" at Alta and Decatur. But I'm still trying to find a great Polish sausage sandwich. Any suggestions? I had one at a Chicago hot dog place on Trop, and it was good, but not great.

I eat at the buffet's some times and try the different types of food they have. Mostly eat at the coffee shops, as long as the food is good, that is all I need.

Even been known to eat at the fast food places on occasions.

My best food I have ever had in Vegas has been at Christopher's at the RIV, I have eaten there at least a dozen times and never was disappointed. There prices are within range, and there steaks, and portabella mushrooms are to die for.

We agree with Lotus of Siam! Great food!!

We also love P.F. Chang's, but I've been to 3 different restaurants and they do vary in quality. Our favorite is the one in Sumerlin on Rampart.

For BBQ, it's Memphis Championship BBQ. The food is very good and I think I actually like the sides even better than the BBQ! The creamed corn and baked sweet potato are wonderful!!

**The last time we were there, I got my meal for free (a $19.99 baby back rib dinner) because it was my birthday month. If anyone's interested, just sign up at their website for the eClub and they send you an email for your birthday to print out and take in. link: http://www.memphis-bbq.com/

Aladdin and Bellagio are my two favorite buffets. As far as good ole American fare....I have never had a bad meal at Grande Lux Cafe in the Venetian. Service and price have been good to me. Finally, living in Northern New Mexico, oysters are a luxury so a "must" on my list is Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans. I'm a pretty small gal but I have been known to order and eat two dozen oysters all by my little self :) My son and his fiancee swear by Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill but I have not had the pleasure of eating there yet. In fact, my son is getting married at the end of May in Las Vegas (he lives in Scottsdale, AZ) so I am already getting a list of "musts" together for the trip.

Too many restaurants to go through them all.
Favorite Italian- Il Mulino at the Forum Shops if you want to shell out some cash, or Sergio's Italian Garden on Tropicana if you want a more reasonable meal. We are going to try Rao's next time we go, so this list might change.
Chinese- Only been to a few and we really like PF Chang's on Paradise we used to like Chin Chin's at NYNY but haven't been there in a while.
Sushi- Little Buddha, haven't had anything but Sushi there, but it was excellent.
American- The Foundation Room at MB, too bad we may never eat there again, it is private and we knew someone who could get us in. It was fantastic though.
Snack or Light Meals-We like Bellagio Cafe for snacks or Kahunaville
Breakfast- Bellagio Cafe.
Buffet- can't really answer we have only been to Aladdin and Wynn for lunch and it was good. We have eaten breakfast at many of them and can you really mess up breakfast?
Coffee Shop- We like the one at Silverton for breakfast and lunch, and Terribles for Breakfast is great.
Mexican- We used to really like Ricardo's on Flamingo, but it has been awhile.

I've been to Grand Lux many times, but just recently a friend of mine tried a dish, "Indochine Chicken and Shrimp". I tasted and it was sooooo delicious. A couple of nights later we were at the Venetian again for another show, Gordie Brown, and after the show we went to Grand Lux. This time I got my own Indochine... This dish is made with ginger, curry, plum wine and a little cream...it's such a delicious sauce. They serve the dish with a big portion of white rice. The cubed chicken breast is so tender and the shrimp is firm. The curry is just a hint of curry. It gets my vote!
