Well this is great! After....how long? getting the newsletter here at work,
now there's a message board.
Vegas shows are my thing...I'm there every 3d month for a week or so, see
shows every night and always have some good ideas on where to sit, what
price ticket to buy, etc.
Ask away if you've got a show planned for your next trip.
REMEMBER most of the "A" shows go on sale 120 days before
the night YOU want to see it, so plan ahead, book in advance, and
call the Boxoffice direct for your best seats.

My husband and myself will be in Vegas Oct 15-18th,what are some shows that you have seen that you consider worth the money that you paid.I would like to see them all but the problem is time and when the lights go out...so does my husband...dead asleep!! So I guess I should ask what shows are worth twice what you paid, lol. We will probably go see some of the afternoon shows ie Matt King,Ron Lucas but I hope to also see one really good night show too. Thanks

So what did you think of "We Will Rock You" ? We would like to see it this time around. Should we get the "Discount Tickets"? OR is it better to pay full price and call the box office?
Thanks

GOOD MORNING!...real nice Sunday here in Oakland, Calif.
Hey 'tinytex'...leaving next Thurs. doesn't leave much time to get some
shows set up in advance. Most of the "A" shows...all the CIRQUE, Danny
Gans, shows at the Colosseum, Barry Manilow...those type of shows, are
probably sold out or close to being so...check, you might get lucky.
Mac King, Ronn Lucas are excellent!...you'll have a great time at both.
Tix4Tonight seems to be the most helpful and popular half price ticket outlet.
You'll find them South Strip next to the Harley Davidson Cafe, outside of the Fashion Show Mall in front of Neiman Marcus, and North Strip acrosss from
the Stardust in a little trailor.
They post their shows at aprox.11-11:30AM, you buy a voucher, take it
to the Boxoffice your show is at and exchange it for a first come/first serve ticket for your show...2hrs. before showtime seems to work best to get the best pick of seats.
www.tix4tonight.com 1.877.849.4868
'Linda'...'WE WILL ROCK YOU' is my favorite show thses days...I'll see it for my 5th time in Dec. where I'll get to meet Aspen'Scaramouche'Miller after
the show!
There isn't a discount any more. Harrah's nixed out GoldStar on the half price
tickets. The do however, now offer 30% OFF to AAA Members if you book at
BALLY'S 1.800.634.3434 or PARIS 1.888.266.5687 Boxoffices'
For first timers to the show, I like the KILLER QUEEN seats. They're mid room
center with great sound and view of the stage, $97.00
The BOHEMIAN Section $124.00, is where I've moved to now and it's GREAT!
Other seats start at $80.59. I've never heard a TR from folks who said the is
a bad seat...everyone is very pleased where ever they sit, GREAT SHOW !!!
WE WILL, WE WILL, ROCK YOU 'clap' ROCK YOU 'clap
'Serene56' Just the 'hook line'...Hypnosis gone wild, gives you a clue as to
the type/quality of show this is. (ever seen any 'Girls Gone Wild' DVD's ?)
*I have not seen it*...I haven't seen any of the 'hypnotizing' shows.
The...leave a message routine to your call makes me think this show is
on a pretty tight budget...many of the low-price, FREE shows are. Many of
the folks who put on these shows DO IT ALL...literally. They answer their
phones, book their shows, go out on the street and pass out fee tickets,
then go back and perform the show...THEY REALLY WORK HARD...BUT,
you get what you pay for with many of them.
For folks who don't see many LIVE Las Vegas shows, these work great and
you should have a good time.
ANTHONY COOLS at PARIS...raw and uncensored,is getting alot of press
lately...folks seem to have a GREAT time if you like the Hypnosis shows.
Nightly, 9PM...Saturdays 8 and 10PM, $40, $60, $75 1.888.266.5687
REMEMBER...ALL THE BIG SHOWS go on sale 90 to 120 days before the
night YOU want to see it. I get all my tickets in advance before I leave
home, pick 'em up at the 'Will-Call' window, great seats, no disappointments.
I DON'T CARE FOR WEB-BOOKINGS, I want to talk to a real person.
SOON, when this boards gets everything set up, it will be much easier to
navigate around for Q & A. Right now, I'm responding where ever I remember
I posted something or needs a reply back..........LOL! Greg

The last time we were in Vegas, this past June,we had free tickets to see this show that we got off the internet.I was glad that they were free cause I wouldn't have paid for them.It was raunchy humor and thats a stretch. The hypnotist gets people out of the audience and attempts to put them under.Of course the ones that don't go under are asked to sit back down,so it makes you wonder if the ones left are plants. Then the ones left up there are given suggestions...what does your partner call you sexually,a part of your body is getting bigger and some one takes it(a woman got mad cause she had paid $5000 for her boob job and she thought someone in the audience had taken them). He tells them to see him naked, first with a big.... and then with a tiny ... Some may find this funny but it wasn't my bag.It was located at the Bourbon Street hotel.

'Plants' have always been a concern of mine for this type of show. Many
of the other shows use them...it's kind of Las Vegas tradition and most folks
don't catch on. Anthony Cools show is pretty legit I think...
Most Hypnosis shows use alot of sexual gags...sex sells, it's Vegas, and
just the way it is if you decide this is your kind of humor.
Here's some ideas from Cools show via the LVA...
Everytime the chorus of Johnny Cash's tune "Ring of Fire" plays, one of the
hypnotized thinks his butt is in flames and scoots across the stage trying
to put it out.
Another has the entire cast auditioning for a porn movie by simulating sex
with chairs.
Embedded in every chair is a wireless camera that broadcasts the scenes on large video screens.
....another woman's genitalia 'talks' to her...as well as to the audience
whenever her name is mentioned. She tries to get her private part to
pipe down, covering it up with her hands, crossing her legs, lying on
her stomach and shushing!

MYSTERE is still my favorite CIRQUE show Ann, it's the origional, the first in
Las Vegas and I think the one you should see first before adding to your
CIRQUE collection of shows.
Dress is comfortable/casual. I wouldn't ware shorts, most showrooms have
the AC cranked up and you could freeze!
Get there a bit early for the pre-show fun. It happens on the main isle as
you come into the theatre. If you're sitting down front, keep your eye on
the folks coming in.
My favorite area to sit for MYSTERE is Secton 203, Rows BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,GG
This is the upper/center section and full view of all the fun the show has
to offer.
By the way, get some 'popcorn' before you go in...........Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

We have seen both Mac King (Harrahs) and Ronn Lucas (Rio) more than once. They are both very very enjoyable. Big Elvis at Barbary Coast also put on a good show. All these are afternoon shows

GregRio... thanks for the great tips on shows that you have seen in Vegas. I will be visiting Las Vegas for the first time Oct. 15-21. Hope to get seats for Mystere and in the seat sections that you recommend. Also, I have always enjoyed Penn & Teller on TV, would very much like to catch their show. Have you seen and would you recommend their show?

We enjoyed "Mystere" very much! There is no dress code. The cast involves some audience members - it's a great show!

'wlswinn' if you're a Penn & Teller fan, you'll like their show. Penn talks too
much (but what else is new...) it's a no-frills type show, showroom can
be chilly (like most) and it's quite entertaining. I just saw it again last trip
in July (3d time now...I'm a fan)
They do a meet and greet after the show in the lobby...always fun.

We've really enjoyed Danny Gans, Mystere, Jubilee, Legends, Wayne Newton, Platters, Drifters, and Coasters. This year we're going to see Barry Manilow and Le Cage. Have fun!
GREGRIO

Two good shows 'Wile'! I saw Manilow a couple months ago and
LeCage off and on for years.
If you don't have your tickets for Barry yet, don't wait, get them
well in advance...he'll sell out.
IF YOU HAVEN'T YET... the LVHilton Theatre has some 'sound dead spots'
....at least, I think so. I'd always sit in the first 13 rows for FAB FOUR,
DREAM KING, ZZ TOP, and the vocals just didn't come out like they should.
Walk to the back of the room, and they were GREAT!?!
Sat in the balcony for Barry Manilow and the sound and view were great.
Mid room for the LVHilton show....it's sounds alot better than down front.

Hi Anne,
My husband and I saw Mystere several years ago. There is not a dress code but people dress nice but can be casual (no tee shirts & cut offs kind of thing.) We thought it was the best show on the strip as have many others including writers of books on LV. Enjoy!
I'm with GREGRIO... I loved Mystere, saw it twice.
I also enjoyed Penn and Teller. Saw them a few years ago here in Chicago, then last year at the Rio. Not only is it a great show, but they mingle in the lobby afterwards to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Greg,
My wife and I will be in Vegas Oct 2-7 for a annual slot tournament. We were thinking about going to Tony and Tina's wedding. What is the difference between the two different price levels? Is it worth the additional $50 or so price and is the gift bag worth the additional charge. I would be the type more apt to participate rather than watch. Where could I find some discounts for the show? Are there tickets available through tichets4tonite?
Also, do you know if ticets4tonite usually have tickets to see "Dowtown" Gordie Brown?
Thanks

:) We have seen a lot shows but not all of them. The funniest we have seen by far is Gordie Brown at the Golden Nugget, cost about $40.00. Worth every penny and more. He has a great band and he does impressions of about 100 different personalities. I guarantee your hubby will stay awake. If you are looking for a good headliner show, try Clint Holmes at Harrahs, cost about $70.00 and 2 for 1's are sometimes available. Very talented guy. He has the best band in town. Scintas at the Rio are very funny and talented musically. About the same price as Clint Holmes and 2 for 1's are sometimes available.
Have fun and hope hubby enjoys himself so much that he never wants to sleep again when in Vegas. ;)

Tony 'n Tina's Wedding 'can' be alot of fun 'GlazRhino'
If you get into it like you say you can, it's even more fun!
I'd stay with the cheaper tickets. It's a small banquet room
type place. Small stage on the center wall, with tables all over
the room...two bars (you buy) at the back.
STUFF is happening all ever the room and from the back you can
watch it all going on in front of you.
When the band starts...you're out on the dance floor anyway, so who
cares where your table is.....it's just for dinner and watching the
short ceremony which you'll see just fine.
I think I heard the tix4tonigh has them...not sure. Also, don't know
the 'gift box' thing...that wasn't happening when I saw the show
years ago. Call the RIO, ask for the Boxoffice and ask if they honnor tix4tonight coupons 1.888.746.7482
It can turn into quite a party...dancing/drinking/live band. I had taken
my 72yr old Mom one trip....we had to leave a bit early.
She didn't want to miss the start of The Chippendales! LOL

...anytime Anne, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A GREAT EVENING!
Here's another tip when seeing MYSTERE.
I'd call the MIRAGE first......yes, The MIRAGE (1.800.627.6667). They're doing some construction and I'm not sure if it's effecting the FREE TRAM out in front.
IF IT ISN'T...cab, Valet, whatever to the MIRAGE. Take the Tram nextdoor to "t.i". Exit the Tram and The MYSTERE THEATRE is right at the bottom of the escalator! Leave the same way and beat all the traffic after the show
at "ti". Danny Gan's show at MIRAGE doesn't conflict at that time of night.
and did I suggest getting some popcorn? (everybody) Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

We live in Las Vegas and have seen all the Cirques. Mystere is our favorite. It is technically the best of them all....just wows you. Make sure you go early because the fun starts before the actual show begins. Dress nicely.....although really anything goes.
