Where do you go to in the airport and how can you tell that they are for hire and not private or reserved?
Do they charge by the half hour or full hour only?
Any idea of what the average rate is, or what we should expect to pay?
How much should we tip the driver?
TIA

There is a sign LIMO'S next to Baggage Claim.

Most charge by the trip itself.

Last time I was there, it was $40 to The Strip.
How much should we tip the driver?
$10.00 for a Limo is OK.

Steve,
Thanks for the reply.
I thought it was pretty straight forward, but we rarely check luggage and I have never paid close attention to that area of the terminal. It's nice to have an idea ahead of time.
Couple more questions if you dont mind.
Is it like a Taxi stand where you have to take the next one in line, or can you chose the Hummer Limo that may be fourth in the line over the Lincoln stretch in the front of the line?
Is it reasonable to ask the driver to take us through the Tunnel (We want to start our Strip cruise down by the welcome sign) to the nearest carryout for beverages, drive all the way up the Strip to the Strat or maybe even to Fremont, turn around and drive all the way back down the Strip to NYNY and drop us off there (on a Thursday evening, 10ish, in December) ?

Well, you pay by the trip, so the driver is trying to make as many trips as he can. Since it's flat rate, the bigger the tip, the more chance you'll have of stopping any place you want. Tip enough, and you could pull in and out of every casino driveway on the strip. Also, arranging a limo can be done last minute by phone or internet or travel agent. All they need is your flight numbers and your credit card, and they'll be waiting for you with no trip to the airport cattle call.

When we went in June, the cost of a limo was $45.00 to one hotel, no stops. We have used Limos lots of times, but this was the first time they told us only one stop.
My brother was staying at Ballys and we were at the Rio so we took a cab that cost us $17. I would phone ahead to Bell or LVL and tell them what you want to do and see if they will give you a cost on it.
The airport limos want to do a fast turnaround back to the airport. Some Limos can only hold 6 people, and they are very strict on that point.
Good Luck.
