I have been going to Las Vegas for several years. I have had a few casino hosts; however, one of them was fantastic. When the Monte Carlo opened, I was assigned to Glen Vichengrad. In my opinion, you could not find a better host. Then, when the Paris opened, Glen took a job there. After approx. 2 years, Glen left Paris/Bally's. I do not know if he is a host at another casino. The Paris would only say that he left their staff. I continue to stay, now, at the Monte Carlo but would change in a heart beat if I knew he was a host at another property. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to track him down or does anyone know where he is? I really believe he would stay in the same line of work as he was amazing. Thanks for your help.

If you see page 40 of the attached link, it seems to imply that as of 2002, he was at The Venetian.

Speaking of hosts I have a question, how do you get one? Do you need to be a bit of a high roller? We are mostly VP players, usually .25 denom, occassionally a $1.00 game here or there. We usually stay at Orleans and get some fairly decent rates, but I have never pursued this avenue. Do the hosts look or only want the BIG SHOOTER to look them up?
Thanks :)

Thanks for helping me in my search for Glenn Vichengrad. I had previously looked in the white pages. There is such a name but it doesn't give an address or employment. The other suggestion was a lot more helpful. I checked out "page 40" of the link and see he may be now at the Venetian. I am really excited about this possibility. I'm going to check this out. Thanks again for all your help!!!

I contacted the Venetian to see if Glenn Vichengrad was now a host there. Unfortunately, they responded that he is not one of their hosts. Any other suggestions?

A good Host takes his/her list of clients with him and contacts them when he changes Casinos, because their clients are what keeps them working.

No Grease B, you may be able to get some comps, but you'll never know unless you ask. I used to think the way you do...I get sick when I think of all the trips I made w/o asking for comps. Don't hesitate to ask, all they can say is "no." Make sure you ask a host and not just 'anyone' at the desk[COLOR=Indigo]Just call the desk and ask if you could speak to a slot host, then stick with him/her. BTW we are low rollers. :)

Comps are for the asking. Each October my husband and I stay at NYNY. Our casino host was Sue Laforce. She is now at the Luxor. Being that we walk everywhere we did not want to stay there when Sue emailed us to tell us she moved. I checked NYNY website and they listed their casino hosts. I contacted Barbara Barnot, introduced myself, told her about Sue and low and behold I now have a new casino host at NYNY and continue to receive comped stays.
Always ask and introduce yourself to a casino host by email before you go to LV.

Glenn did contact me when he moved from the Monte Carlo to the Paris. He even arranged a stay for me at the Paris. Shortly after, he was gone. He was originally from New York so he may be in any other part of the country. I have another host now, who is very accommodating but will never be as good as he was. I really wish I could find him. Thanks for your input.

Believe it or not, the best way to meet a Casino Host is just ask to speak to one. The easiest place to ask to have one paged would be a the Front Desk. Most casinos will have a "Casino Host" room. Just walk in and introduce yourself.

To Greaseball
We stay at Palace Station and are completely comp'd. (room & meals) plus we get a limo to and from the airport. We are by no means high rollers, we just have a good relationship with our host. If you are interested, I can reply with her name. :)

Thanks, Steve. I actually still have my casino host at the Monte Carlo that replaced Glenn. I'm really not complaining, as I have not paid for a room since they opened, and I am NOT a high roller. But she is just not as good and as friendly as he was. Again, I would switch hotels if I could find him. Maybe he has left the business. I just thought the forum would be a good place to try to find him if he was still out there.
Hi all. Just wanted to know if anyone from this site knows where any of the Casino workers from the sands went too. We are looking for John, Pat, Nancy all where casino host from the old Sands.. Steve by the way, do you mean that we can just go and ask for a Casino Host from any place? We have been to vegas so much and never did it, we are not high rollers and what do we have to do? We are going back on the Oct 30, -nov 2, and would love to get some comps. thank you again you are the best!!! :p

I am not a high roller by any means, but I checked out the resorts web site. Many list their hosts with pictures and names, then email one and ask for their help in what it takes to get comps or better rates than offered on the web site. that is what I did at NYNY and I now receive comped nights and/or casino rates on the rooms which is better than what is on their own websites or anywhere else I have looked.

What I did was I called a hotel and asked to speak to a host, I gave the impression that I wanted to move my play from another hotel. She was very nice and gave their guidelines for comps they offered a casino rate if I was willing to play there. I dont think its all that hard to get a host, you just need to make a bit of a committment to whatever casino you're at.
I am a casino host and wherever I go, I keep my list and my guests info and try to contact them and invite them to the new proparty.
I believe your host should have done the same thing.

Sounds like you and I play at the same level. We play mailny VP and craps at the lower levels.
With Steves recommendation, I contacted Bob Cohen at the IP a few years ago, He now books any Harrah's locations , and he has given us fantastic service.
We just booked a trip through him at Paris in March.
We are definitly not high rollers, but he treats us as if we were.

We had never contacted a casino host until our last visit, in September. I was telling my BJ dealer how much I enjoyed staying at the Venetian, and hoped they would invite us again. She told me to go ask for a casino host before we left, which was in about 15 minutes. So I did. They called one on the phone. I just wanted to be comped on my return, but she pulled up my play and comped all the food and beverages we had charged to the room. Really wish I had had more Pina Coladas by the pool:cool:
I wish I had gotten her name, but I will certainly check in with the host when we arrive in 17 days.
