Havnt stayed here before, but we got $75 rate for the weekend at the NFR in Dec, including some 2 for 1 coupons for meals and shows and spa, so we booked it. Are the rooms OK? Is there a specific tower to request so we are closer to the strip, and dont have to walk half way across the property to get out. Is the buffet ok?? Let me know if you have had any experiences there, good or bad. Thanks.

Lots of kids running around. Casino is a little confusing to get around in. However, is connected to Luxor which is connected to Mandalay Bay. Makes for lots of options for gambling, food, etc. Haven't stayed there, so don't know about hotel, but have gambled there. Machines seemed loose. :D Won $350.00 on quarter machine and saw some else win $500 on quarter machine just minutes later. Everyone seemed to get a lot of play time whether winning or not. Would like to go back to play, but can't convince hubby because he didn't win.

We usually stay at the Excal. It's connected to the Luxor, Mandalay bay and the Monte Carlo by tram. Yes there are lots of kids in the Jester court. But not in the Casino. They really keep a good watch on parents who let their kids stay in the halls of the Casino. I saw someone actually get escourted out, because she was on the slots, while her 4 kids were laying on the floor near a rest room. I do like the security. There are guards at every elevator entrance and they DO check ID's. The breakfast stinks, go to the Luxor, they have a wonderful breakfast. The dinner buffet is average. Good pealed shrimp, roast beef is also good. They have good deserts, pastries and ice cream. Rooms are clean. Halls a kind of dark, but it follows the mid century theme. :)

It doesn't really matter which tower you stay in, the exit is between the towers. Have always liked it at the Excal as there are security guards posted by the elevators,so if you can't show them a room key, you can't access the elevators. I have found that the slots are relatively loose compared to other strip properties. Comps are pretty good also. :D

The security guards are there 24/7. I never worry about strangers going up to the rooms. Even if they remember your face, they will ask you to show your room key.

We like the slots there also. Unfortunately, last visit, I got hungry around 3 am, and my husband & I went for a burger. When we returned all the bells were going off. The slot he was playing all night hit for a brand new car. I think it was a BMW. :(

That hurts. Feel for you. But then you know what they say about the RNG.
Just have to hit it right.

We have stayed here for the last 5 years the first week of Dec. and there are very few kids at that time of year. In fact, I don't remember seeing any. Just lots of cowboys.

We have been staying there for over 10 years and always enjoy. Comps are great if you remember to use slot club card. Buffet is not one of the better ones although Sir Galahad's and Sherwood Forest are above average. Tournament of Kings is great and a VG value. Easy access to 6 other major hotels. Most of all price is right. Rooms are fine, bathrooms are huge, staff is customer friendly, pool is fine although it can be a bit crowded. And let's face it if you are going to Vegas for the rooms and not the action you have come to the wrong town.

We have stayed at Excalibur a couple of times over the years, however have not been back since our last stay there in 1999 - in the peak of the morning, whilst getting ready for a long drive to the Grand Canyon, the water was cut off - not impressed. No explanation and no apology. I guess this was enough to keep me from staying there again. However, we do frequent Excalibur for good ole Krispy Kremes and to drop a few coins in their machines. It's a VERY smokey casino (compared to the newer casinos), but I guess at the end of the day, it's good value for $$$ and it's good for families!!! Fantasy Fare (is that what the games arcade is called?) is great for kids (and adults)!!!

We took the whole family, and our granddaughter, who was six at the time, loved it! She loved the games and shops, and the shows. She really loved being able to get Krispy Kremes from room service. We thought is was okay, motel style rooms were clean and well kept, basic bathrooms. The casino was smokey....even to me, a smoker.

Hey thanks for the information! We will be staying 4 nights in October at the Excalibur. This really helps answer my questions.
