My favorite thing about Vegas is the feeling you get when you put down a bet and wait for the outcome be it table games, video poker, or at the sportsbook. Win or lose it is the action that most of us yearn for.:)

It's the one place that my friends and I never tire of, so for almost 15 years, we've been going back for a few days and hanging out together. I don't think I'd be able to stay in touch as well if we didn't have somewhere we could agree to meet at, share memories of, forward articles about, etc.

:) My favorite thing about Vegas is the People. Iam a people watcher and Las Vegas has all kinds of different people. I try to guess what kind of profession they are in by the way they look. I have been going to LV since the early 70's, and I have met a whole lot of nice people.

"What happens in VEGAS--stays in VEGAS!"
Pacman Jones wishes that was true! :)
My favorite thing is walking out of a casino with more money than I walked in with! ;)
Each day, the focus is what VP or slot machine to conquer, where to have something to eat or drink, and just enjoying the sunshine. Its a place to be for a few days to enjoy the "moment". Never know what may happen next. Oh yes, love the housekeeping at the hotel (Harrah's is our favorite)!

Two things! I love to sit on the balcony of the Fontana Bar at the Bellagio, have a drink and watch the fountains at sunset. Awesome! I also love the feeling I get every time I leave the strip and walk into a casino. I just love to take it all in - people watch - game watch. It's especially fun to see the reaction of someone win anything significant.

SInce its only one thing, i have to say its that dream like feeling you get as your mind trys to take it all it. When you come home and look at the photos or chat about it, you "know" you didnt take it all in despite your efforts, so you must return. Most often this happens for me standing in front of ceasars (or heck out your strip view window) with a great view of major parts of the strip, just trying to absorb it all. "is it real"? "did i just see that"? Plus we are foodies..... Oh thats two

Arriving in Vegas is the best. In those first moments, anything can happen on the trip, any food any show, and win. The reality of what does happen is never bad, but the possibilities when you see the strip as the plane goes to the gate...perfect.

Aura, Buzz, The Feeling...... All words previously used. The sweet thing about those words is that most on here know EXACTLY what we're talking about. You fly to New York City, Orlando, LA etc. all great destinations and great places to visit, but only in Vegas do we get "that feeling"

The thing I like about Vegas is the total freedom to do what we want, when we want. No clocks or schedules (except for shows). A chance to escape from all the pressures and demands of the real world. We go twice a year and are going again this April. There is no place like Vegas!!

It's hard to just name one thing but I would have to say the excitement of the casinos. I can stay up to early A. M. and never get tired but if I was home, I would be exhausted as it got bedtime. I love the excitement of the sounds, cheers from those lucky enough to win, and the tireless energy that I feel when I'm there. Nowhere in the world is the same as Vegas.

I've been a "local" for about a year and a half. I had to fly back to my former home in October for a few days. On the way back, when the plane was coming over the mountains and I could see my house and the lights in the valley and I knew that I was "home", it felt just like all those many trips to Vegas before we moved here - such exhilaration! My favorite thing is knowing when I get off work, if I feel like going and doing something - shopping, gambling, drinking, a show, you name it - I have so many choices. I LOVE THIS TOWN!
Gambling, of course, hoping for a BIG win someday.

Favorite thing about Vegas....
It's history!
Even though present day Vegas is about moving forward and 'out with the old in with the new' I still admire its roots. I am thankful that somethings are still there like the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. I always go and try to visit whatever is still standing from Vegas' glory days. Each year more and more dissapears which saddens me. In one aspect I approve of Vegas and it's moving forward with the times because that is how Howard Huges always envisioned Vegas, but I also question they way in which Vegas tries to move forward as I believe things such as the boom in high priced condos is just a fad and is already proving to be a failure.
I am thankful for the Neon Boneyard (which currently salvaged the Stardust sign) and Las Vegas' historic preservation comittee (which currently saved the LaConcha motel lobby building). I am also thankful for being able to browse UNLV's Special Collections Library and its large collection of Vegas historical archives.
Las Vegas history is the best.

What's NOT to love about it. I think ultimately for me though, it's the camaraderie. Except for maybe a cruise, where else can you go and be with thousands of total strangers and feel so comfortable. They cheer you on at the tables, they congratulate you when your slot machine is paying off, they'll say things or admit to doing things that they wouldn't dream of telling anybody else. And at the end of your day when you're making your way back to your hotel, you look down the strip at all the flashing lights and marquis' and you realize life just doesn't get much better than this. Going week of June 11th for my birthday visit, can't wait. :D

When you're at a craps table. You're the shooter. You're on a DREAM ROLL to begin with. Establish a dificult point like '4'. Everyone is yellin, screamin, hootin & hollerin for you to make it. You rattle the bones in your hands, the yelling gets l o u d e r as you release em. The dice bounce off the back wall. First die lands on 'two'. The other die spins around like a bellerina and lands on 'two'. The words 'hard four, frontline winner' (from the stick) cant even be heard. :)

My absolute favorite thing about Vegas is the feeling of anticipation as we wait for our luggage after landing at the airport. So many possibilities. The T- wait is over, yet the trip hasn't officially started. Are we going to get long-hauled by the cabbie? Upgraded room? Where to eat first? Which alcohol will it be today? Tequila? Rum? Beer? It's all a crapshoot, and it doesn't really matter what the outcome will be because whatever happens will still be better than being where you'd normally be at that time.

What is my ONE favorite thing about Las Vegas?
I am sorry but I do not think such a statement, even after considerable pondering, is possible to exactly define. Would you ask me what is my one favorite thing about a beautiful woman? My one favorite Bond movie? My favorite flavor of cheese? Well, my friends, I say to you that there IS no one specific thing. Any one thing I could list can be duplicated in many other locations on this planet. Las Vegas IS Las Vegas. And that's what I like best about it. I like/love so much of it, and it is so different everey single time...
So I will have to say... it's just IT. Being there. Experiencing it all. Sights, sounds, smells, tastes... I feel more alive there than any place else I go. It's like the second my vehicle comes over the top of the mountain, past the Railroad Whatchacallit Casino, and I can see the whole of Las Vegas spread out across the valley... its like caffiene-free crack! I'm just electrified with anticipation. From that moment until the bags hit that bendy chrome and lounge chair mesh luggage rack in whichevere room I end up in, everything's a blur. My neck gets sore from whipping in so many directions trying to take it all in. My eyes tired from continually popping out of their sockets at the splendor and spectacle everywhere (and the fabulous babes, both professional and tourist) My brain spins from the pressure of trying to figure out which way to go first, what to do next, and my stomach, well, it's ready for every type of food in the world, which gives the brain even More to ponder and decide. It's exhausting just to imagine!
They say what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas.
My t-shirt says "What happens in Las Vegas... Never happens to ME!!:(
Then again, one might think this is not all true. It could be a 60/40 split between being there... and NOT being here!
So that's my answer and I'm stickin' to it. Not specific enough? Too darn bad! Because it's not just one thing. Its the whole package!!

When in Vegas it is so easy to leave "the real world" behind. I find it to be such a total escape from reality.. always so relaxing... even when I loose money. :( Only down side of this is that it can make it hard to go back to "life."

Since I can pick only one thing - it's gotta be the atmosphere. That term lets me combine the people, the machines, the sounds, and the food and drink. I'm heading out June 20.
It's the whole Vegas experience starting with the rush I get when I see the strip from the plane as we are landing. It is all one big adrenalin-fest!!!

I love the excitement of being downtown, gambling, using players' cards, getting comps, using coupons, and treating my friends. The lack of responsibility also helps! OK...it may not be ONE thing, but it sure feels like ONE entire package.

People watching. Going to a bar and just sitting for awhile and watching the people go by. :D

My favorite things is sitting in some of the nice sports books watching several games at one time. I'm a big NFL, NBA and MLB fan and seeing all these games going on at once makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. I still remember the first time I walked into Caesars for the first time in 1989 and about feel over see all the games on the big screens!
