Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to the new format and hope everyone will jump in with both feet.

For the past 20 years my husband and I have been getting our Las Vegas fix twice a year: usually in April and in October.

We live very close to Atlantic City, but would rather save our money and go to Las Vegas.

We're not fancy, we're not high-rollers and we don't spend a lot of money on food. We're not cheap (well I'm not, anyway) but we want the most for our money. I've joined all the slot clubs and we stay wherever we get the best rate. Needless to say we've never stayed in any of the newer places. My husband wouldn't be able to fall asleep at those rates!

Our next trip is coming up in October and we're booked at the IP, through the slot club, not Bob Cohen, although I may give him a call and see if he can do better, but probably not - I was quoted $49/night which is the best I can do so far. Stardust ususally offers something slightly less, but their location isn't as good.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone else, as well as sharing any of our experiences, and absolutely LOVE trip reports.

Legalois,
Question please! My 1st trip to Vegas is Oct. 9-14, on average what is the weather like at that time? I have only been able to get bare minimum of info on this subject.

I have always called Bob C directly at IP - never hurts to ask even if if it's just an upgrade in the room. Have fun!

Hey Starz
Weather in October is up in the high 80's low 90's during the day and usually drops off to the mid 60's in the evening. We too will be there around mid-October.

Hi Starz

Mostly it's been pretty hot during the day, but remember, it's a DRY heat. Yeah, right. Hot is hot and you still sweat!

We've managed to experience the Las Vegas version of 'rain' the past few times we've been there (April and October are our months to visit). I know it does rain hard occasionally, but the rain we saw consisted of a slight mist - just enough to screw up your hair, but who cares? You're on vacation!

Check with IP slot host and ask about the Autumn Package Extended plan
Rates are $29.00 per night and $39.00 weekend.
I booked IP at $49.00 per night for )Oct 2 thru Oct 7 - I was very happy to receive the card in the mail showing the special rates.
I called and the rates were changed. let me know how you made out!
Good Luck
