Just got my issue of Forbes mag and it has a good article on the complex that MGM is building. The article says there will be two 400 room hotels and a 4000 room hotel-casino with a drug store, dry cleaners and a grocery store. The grounds will be landscaped along the streets. Part of it will be covered. It will cover 66 acres and the cost is $5 billion. Construction starts this winter.

Check it out in the Oct. 3 issue starting page 99.

:( Just a thought. Is this what Harrahs is planning when they acquire Barbary Coast and Casino Royale? "Harrahs Mega Resort for the Working Class", ha, ha.

It will be on the west side of the strip close to Flamingo Road. From what I understand, the Boardwalk will be imploded and the "city" will include that area and hook around behind Bellagios. It will be hotels, condos, businesses, etc. up front and the casino will be further back. If you are in Vegas this winter, you can't miss it. They are supposed to have about 35 cranes working at once.

MGM also owns the land behind NYNY and Monte Carlo and that could eventually be included in this project, too, which would make it a 100 acre layout.
