Any Montecito fans hanging out. Vegas Vic is a fan but Vegas Vickie is not so much. Who is coming back and who has left?

I just watched last season's finale last Monday and thought it was the best single episode in the entire series.
The part where everyone left to Glady's Knights' "Midnight Train to Georgia" was great. The implosion was the topper.
Judging by the coming attractions, it looks like most or all of the cast appear to be coming back. It was hard to tell. (I sure hope the girls are back ;) )

Where can I find a casino where headliners perform in a cabaret off the casino floor? Steve you are right, that was quite an episode!
I think I read where the Montecito has a new boss lady. Don't know if she replaces Big Ed. The previews suggested Ed was back and most of the gals.

I don't want to provide a spoiler for tonight's show but I saw the first episode of this season on one of our Canadian channels last night: CH tv, and Ed is in fact, back. The new owner is a "golddigger" who came into some money when her 93 husband died in bed and I think her and Sam will butt heads this season. (Two obviously strong-minded women). It was a great episode with lots of excitement.

At least one of the main characters from last season is not coming back.
Looking forward to tonight.
There is a new soundtrack coming out next week along with the season 2 DVD.
Love Vanessa Marcil (Sam)

I loved the outdoor waterfall on the new Montecito.....probably get all the widows yucked up when the wind blows but its television......
Since when do they have a cage with no one in it and all full of money. Didn't they have time to build a vault?
Good Show, looking forward to next week. :)

Liked the no vault thing, also the fact that they just took the money back after the cops came. What happened to it being evidence?

Yep, Nessa is the only one not coming back. She's not Ed Deline's daughter, but she's LIKE a daughter to him. He was in the service with her father or something. Her replacement only had a small role, but is an absolute look-alike. It was a GREAT show. Not sure what I think of Lara Flynn Boyle or her role, but I'll give her a chance and see what happens. One character I've NEVER like is Ed's actual daughter, Delinda, and last night she acted like such a slut!

Vegas Vic,
I've read that after their shows some performers go to the Lon Bronson show at the Golden Nugget and get up and entertain with the band. Haven't seen it yet myself, but hope to on our next trip. Days and times are on Golden Nugget website.

I think Delinda is supposed to be sort of a, well, slut...but with a genius IQ....Hollywood . At least they could have scripted her with a heart of gold or something.... Like Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke (dating myself here a bit).

Thought the first episode sucked. The facial hair didn't do Ed any justice. I did like the shot of Lara Flynn Boyle walking into Danny's yard! ;)

We don't all have to agree with the moderator here do we Steve?
*Since he did not respond, I will take that as a no we don't...*
I was disapointed with Boyle as the New Owner. Her character seemed weak compared to Big Ed or almost any of the other characters.
A woman who will sleep with a "horn dog" in his late 80's would seem to be made of stronger stuff. Hopefully, she will grow into the role with some....some....substance for lack of a better word. I was expecting a gal like Alixis on Dynesty..........but perhaps a Joan Collins type would have blown good ol Ed out of the water.

I thought the episode was decent.
I hope we're not going to have another season of Danny/Mary nonsense.
I liked how they set up next week with the final scene from this week, not just in promo form.
I like Lara Flynn Boyle I think her and Sam will work out great together with the like/hate thing going on.
Do agree about Caan's beard he was better clean shaven.

love that show... but it may be cuz i love las vegas and i can get a slight fix while watching it. also like that it includes a little humor, mystery and romance all in one show.
not a lara flynn boyle fan but will reserve judgement on her and am disappointed that nessa isn't back. hmmmm? on that one. do not like the looks of the inside of the new casino. looked dark and dreary to me.
i also like that they include Vegas regulars and other stars. one show even had a cop from the "Cop" series that episoded in LV. glad it is back! the new boss and sam should be a fun duo to watch. hssssssssst!

I'm a fan too, despite some episodes being downright silly, and pretty much ALL of them being unrealistic,
Since when do they have a cage with no one in it and all full of money. Didn't they have time to build a vault?
But as Vic said, its a TV show. You gotta have a "willing suspension of disbelief" as they say in theatre. You gotta be willing to look over the impossible or the inaccurate (like the person playing a slot machine when there was a blackout in the Montecito) to enjoy the fun of the show.
Yeah, big Vegas fix there.
And I DO think we're in for more Danny/Mary stuff. Everytime we saw her someone said where's Jake and she said Jake is working late. Got the feeling Jake will be leaving poor Mary alone too much. So much for picket fences.

I find myself looking forward to Monday nights. A little Monday Night Football and then Vegas. I wish they would film more of the show outside out and about the city.
It seems they are missing some good money from advertising by not having episodes filmed at the Wynn or any of the resorts under construction.
When the show started, they touted "The City of Las Vegas playing itself"...been way to much Montecito and too little Vegas....

A little off-topic but I noticed a lot of great outdoor Las Vegas shots on the CSI premiere last week.

can't remember how to spell his name but "Danny" was on one of the late nite shows and he saidmost of the filming was done in LA so i supposed that is why not many outside shots are on the show. they travel and gather generic shots of the city but that is about it. seems pretty realistic tho the terrain in parts of Cal would be the same,i suppose.

Like most VEgas shows, they go to Vegas a couple of times a season and film some outdoor shots but the rest is filmed in a studio......
Remember the old "Streets of San Francisco? First few seasons it was filmed in Hollywood, then they made a big deal about it all being filmed in SF. IF only.....

From what I remember of that show most of it was actually filmed in SF(including the early years)
Spenser for Hire was filmed in Boston you could tell they usually shot early in the morning because the sun was always at a low angle.
HOw much of Vega$ was shot at the old DI?

Love the show, too. We go to LV twice a year for 7-10 days. Don't know when we'll go in fall - I'll be giving flu shots for a while. The only mistakes I've noticed on the show was Mike driving to the airport but he was driving north and a cabbie picking up a fare on LV Blvd which they're not allowed to stop to pick up fares on the strip. By the way - who says I'm a low roller?

I bought the "Las Vegas" soundtrack the other day and it's not bad. Nice cast photo. Some of the songs were good but also a few I did not care for.
Yeah, the storylines are a bit contrived at times, but I tape the show every week & do enjoy a little of the feeling of being there again.
Since i've been watching I've tried to place where in Las Vegas the Montecito is supposed to be. I'm kind of getting the feeling from the exterior shots that it might be in the area of Monte Carlo, but I'm not sure.
One thing - if they are going to do Part 1 on Crossing Jordan and Part 2 on Las Vegas, why can't they tell us that ahead of time? I don't mind Crossing Jordan, but I don't make a point of watching it, so when I settle back to watch Las Vegas and find out I'm halfway through the story - I'm generally not too pleased! Now I know what you're thinking, look in the TV Guide, but there are still parts of the world where there is no TV Guide and the listing in the newspapers give no story details.
I've got to go along with the majority on James Caan's beard - not only does having a beard not fit him - it looks so bad that I almost want to shave mine off! Mind you, I look more like Santa Claus than I do James Caan, but really let's write a script where Big Ed Deline is in the barber shop for a trrim and shave while he contemplates this week's mystery.

I agree with that! I have been watching Danny since his soap days on AMC. Mike has revolved into quite a character, I love it. Can't stand Delinda or Sam. We will definitely see more of Mary and Danny, but not quite yet, cause Danny is gonna have a Rendezvous with his real estate agent.
I think the Montecito is near the Mandalay Bay area.
Wish I was there.

I am extremely disapointed with Lara Flynn Boyle as the New Owner of the Montecito. I do not like the way she treats Ed. But I am wondering if later on in the season if she will end up a love interest for Ed, since his wife is never there.

Most guys seem to drool all over Sam and Delinda. Personally I would pick Mary...reminds me so much of Vegas Vickie......
The old Montecieto was accross the street from Mandolay Bay but the new one seems to be near Ceasars I think.
Last season, the Fear Factor guy left Mandolay Bay, drove north on the Strip to within sight of the Strat and then turned into Montecieto......quite a trick.
