This week's Topic Of The Week Question is:

What was your most expensive purchase in Las Vegas? This includes anything....a meal, a gift, a suite..etc.

The single most expensive purchase was $350 for a pair of sandals. I love them, I've gotten double my money out of them. I've also dropped some money at Tiffany's. Then there were some prints at Zgallerie...a suite at the Bellagio, a Coach purse...

My daughters wedding and it was worth every penny!

I never let vegas cloud my judgement - so don't throw my money away!

But the tables do get a few bucks!

Assuming Bally's doesn't cut me a break, it's gonna be about $560 for the suite I'll be staying in during my trip this December.

I didn't spend much my first time around — the buffet at Paris for two might have been the top expense.

My husband won $400.00 on a keno machine and I immediately spent
$120.00 on a Emmitt Kelly the tramp music box at Circus Circus. It now sells 10 years later for over $250.00.

$530.00 for stage seats for Barry Manilow as a present for my wife. I suffered through the show, she was in 7th heaven and the rewards keep coming. :)

Most expensive thing my husband and I bought last year was our "home" to be in Summerlin. We are now retired as of this year and living in Vegas and loving every day :)

Last year I paid for the party bus for our girls only lounge crawl - with tip it was over 500 - well worth it we had a blast. This year the "girls" want to do it again so we are all chiping in.

We've been to a few Cirque shows, and those are always in the $200 plus for the two tickets.

But my biggest splurge was a treatment package at Elemis spa last year - healing touch massage plus lime ginger salt glow for I think around $280.

Worth every. single. penny.

My most expensive purchase in Las Vegas was dinner at Le Cirque. The tab was $1440 for 2 but it did include tip. Two bottles of expensive wine was most of the bill. A shot of King Louie at the end topped off the dinner. Well worth every penny!!

wedding dress 1200.00 , wedding package at mandelay Bay 2000.00 which at the time was a fantastic deal. Too bad that within a week after I found the true gold digger I was dating for two years couldn't hide any longer I filed for divorce 4 months later which cost me dearly.. darn I should have sprayed her down with holy water.

My friend hit a royal on a quarter VP at a circus circus bar, $500. it had a double down feature, which everyone tried to talk him out of (including the bartender). but he didn't listen, $1000. he contemplated doubling down again, but this time he listened. he left in a mad dash, took a cab to the Strat and bought the most outlandish jacket you have ever seen (died lamb skin, red sleeves, black body, poker figures on the front, and the strat running down the sleeve) he must have loved it $500!:D

Took my parents to see Celine Dion - got 5th row center seats at $245 each. $245 x 3 = $735 Was it worth it? I'm not sure - the parents really liked the show but I thought it was way overpriced. By comparison, KA was much better and much cheaper than Celine.

Most expensive meal - Hit a $5,000 royal flush on one trip and treated my traveling companion to dinner at CraftSteak. We each ordered the Kobe beef steak which was (I think) $95 each. With drinks and other things, I think the total bill neared $500 for the two of us. Was it worth it? Yes and no. Food was great but their filet mignon (around $45) is the best.

This was easy...the WORST meal we ever had in Vegas. The Seafood buffet at the RIO it was almost $200 for 2 adults and 2 kids and the food wasn't worth $1.99.

I guess the most expensive thing I bought in ( for ) Vegas was a pair of Celine Dion tickets for my wife and daughter a couple of summers ago. $250 plus fees for the pair and they were up in the second balcony. I'm just glad they didn't insist that I go with them. I didn't lose that much while they watched the show :D ..... lol.

I could say the U haul to move here! ($2,200+gas) But I paid for most of that in Syracuse.

Let me think......for a single purchase......would have to be my Barry Manilow ticket at $187. Worth every penny! When I can get my Mom out here again, I want to get stage seats for the 2 of us. Talk about up close and personal! He walks right up to the tables! That'll run about $650 for the 2 of us, unless prices go up again.

Most expensive - 2 tickets to see Elton in the second balcony- almost $400
Next - 2 tickets for front seats to see Reba - cost a little less than Elton

Third and most extravagant really -
Hubby and I were eating at Ballys Steakhouse and a lady came around taking pictures. So we had ours made. They turned out really good so we bought a bunch to give our kids for Christmas because they are always complaining that they don't have good pictures of us. We got several 8x10's and some 5x7's for the grandkids. When she came back with them we asked the cost, and she said $335. I gasped then asked her if we could charge them to our room at the Paris. She said we could, so we paid for them with our TR points.
Now, I have to get frames for them which will probably cost me an arm and a leg. Oh, well. I think the kids will appreciate them.

But, then when I think about it, the most expensive was 2 plane tickets from Dallas to LV last spring - $700.

Most expensive was my last trip to Vegas in June.
Stayed at the Wynn. Ate a lot. Drank enough. Gambled much.
Did want we usually do but with little limit because it would be awhile til we got back there.
I did buy a Louis Vuitton handbag - That should give an idea how expensive our trip was.;)

The most expensive would be the time I took mom out for her birthday. Think the total trip cost me about $8,200, after mom ran out of money and started spending mine plus the airfare.

Other than that, I go on the cheap. Was tempted to buy a watch one time but remembered seeing the same one around here for about $40 cheaper so just waited until I got home and bought it with some of the winnings. :)

My husband convinced me to buy a timeshare. It was quite a bit of money and I am very conservative when it comes to unnecessary purchases. Fortunately, he was right. We love the Fairfield Grand Desert.

Most expensive single purchase was a silver and gold necklace at the Monte Carlo for $750.the first year it opened, after my husband and I were both ahead over $800. each. By the end of the stay we wish we had the cash back as we began to loose, but not bad enough to return the necklace.

My most expensive hotel stay was 4 days at Bellagio with tickets to "O", and shopping at the Venition as a 85th birthday present for my Mother, she had always wanted to go to Italy but became to frail to travel that far. This was the closest thing to Italy I could come up with. She had never been to Vegas and had the best time in her life, it took 6 months to pay off all the expenses. it was well worth it. She is now in a nursing home with failing memory but still remembers most of that trip.

Probably either of my purses I've bought there. The Coach was about $400 and the Furla was about $300. Funguy bought a Tommy Bahama shirt at Mandalay Bay for $200. I usually do most of my shopping before we go to Vegas!! :)

Chanel purse. $1,200. That's what I get for going to Las Vegas without the girlfriend. You try going home empty handed after a solo trip to Las Vegas!

Next purchase will probably be for THE RING, but Doris won't give me a loan, so maybe I'll have to wait on that one.

Can you say Pre-Nup?
After my sisters divorce, I wouldn't marry anyone without one. A pre-nup and separate bank accounts. I don't care how much I love the guy, no pre-nup, no marriage.

On a solo trip I did purchase jewelry for the wife, $125.00 some 20 years ago. It still hangs around her neck almost everyday. So I figure why buy her more.

In the last 10 years, the all time big purchase and not worth it to me are.

On a trip with a friend I wasted $100.00 a couple different time for those better seats in the middle... I told him never again.... both shows closed

On a different trip with the same friend a $50 steak and $10.00 baked potato plus tax and tip at Smith and whoever on the strip. I told him the steak place in CC was better for less.

The Mirage coffee shop...the last week of November 2005,,,, $9.50 plus tax and tip for a burger and fry... and to think when I was there in April 2005 I could have bought the same burger and fry for only $9.00 plus tax and tip.

The all time big purchase, but not worth it to me, was at the Wynn dinner buffet. 2 people with tip for the server $75.00.

It may not cost the most but I guess its relative. As a confirmed cigar lover I was window shopping in the Davidoff shop in the Venetian when I saw them..a box of Aurora Preferidos Sapphires. Rated as one of the top cigars in the world in 2006. Now I am a smoker of cheeep cigars, usually .50 to $2 max. But I splurged and payed $33 bucks for a single stick. This is more than an entire box of my usual Hav-A-Tampas. I still have not smoked it yet as I am saving it for an important event, like beating Auburn next week. Roll Tide! :D
