Absolutely fantastic 8 day stay at the Wynn. We were comped 3 days and decided to extend the stay 4 extra days, even before we left. I asked for the highest floor available and was given a room on the 56 floor facing the strip. Odd numbered rooms face the strip, even rooms face the golf course.
The room was absolutely gorgeous, with floor to ceiling windows and automatic drape opening on the wall near the bed. Oh, the BED! I didn't want to get up every morning. It was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. My husband and I are really thinking about ordering the mattress...Yes Wynn does sell them and all the items in the room as well!
The elevators were fast, contrary from what other reviews said. Also, living in New York, I didn't find the food prices at all high. Yes, you are in a luxury hotel, so you can expect to find higher prices, but nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, the buffet was the best I have ever had. At night they have baby lamb chops, prime rib, peeled shrimp and cracked open crab legs on the menu for $32.00. The gourmet restaurants are standard New York prices. We ate in the SW steakhouse, outside on a patio facing a beautiful waterfall. If you dine after sundown, there is even a 5 minute light show in the lake. that you will have a front row seat at. The food was excellent and service extremely attentive. We also ate in the deli in the casino next to the sportsbook. Excellent soups, sandwiches and salads. You can get it to go as well. THere is a coffee shop for a quick bite as well, although i found 4.00 for a cup of coffee a little over the top (like starbucks).
The pool is absolutely gorgeous and there is always plenty of lounge chairs with cushions available, even on crowded weekends. There is plenty of shade. There is a bar with blackjack tables toward the back at the European pool. This "european pool" means that one may go topless. Many did, but there were more women with their tops on. There are round cushioned beds with umbrellas on the shallow edge all around this pool as well. You can get a sandwich, salad or hamburger back there too. The cocktails are mighty expensive. $12.00 for a pina colada. Pick up a free bottle of water when you get your towels, otherwise it will cost you $8.00 if you order a bottle from a waittress.
I can't say enough about the quality and service of the hotel. We thought it was even classier than the Bellagio and easier to maneuver around. All the help was pleasant. I used the spa once and had a massage which was excellent. The bath products in the bathroom were super great and there was no problem in asking for extras. There is turndown service every night and they also clean the bathrooms each evening and leave chocolates on the bed...........nice touch.
I can't wait to get back!
