We are off to LV in a few day, and one of our days plans includes a trip to the Elvis-a-Rama Museum. Has anyone been there, and is it worth a look? We have 2-4-1 tickets,(either museum or museum/show combo) so I'm in hopes it will be an inexpensive afternoon "hoot-n-a-half" that we will enjoy. My parents are going out with us this time, and both are elvis fans. (We are 40-somethings, so we are fans, but not fanatics).
Any feedback, comments, yeas or nays out there?
Thanks, Nan:cool:

You may want to check with the Elvis a Rama museum as it is closing in the near future. I have not seen an exact date that it is permanently shutting down. This is their website http://elvisarama.com/main.html

Trip Advisor advises that it is closing sometime in October.

I enjoyed the Elvisarama Museum. It has a lot of wonderful interesting items including Elvis' blue suede shoes and his contract with the Frontier as well as many cars. I thought it was a bit expensive (I didn't have any coupons) but both my mum and I loved it. I hope you get to see it before it closes - I wonder where all the items will be going?

I went to Las Vegas twice now and both times I really wanted to go to the Elvis-A-Rama Museum. Unfortunately, with all the sidetracking going on I didn't get a chance. And, now I find out it's closing :(
But, the good news is EPE bought it out with most of the memorabilia and I'm sure a new Elvis museum type operation will be opening up in the new City Centre Hotel along with the new Elvis Cirque show. I'm REALLY looking forward to this new show....

I haven't been to the museum yet either. Glad to hear about the possibility of another Elvis type museum will open up and a new Cirque show to boot! Sounds good to me! :D

I believe the Elvis-a-Rama may now be closed. Thought I remembered City Center wouldn't be open until 2009. Can't quite imagine Cirque and Elvis together. Will be interesting to see how they pull that off.

This was posted in "Everything Las Vegas" issue # 594:
The Elvis-A-Rama Museum has closed down for now. The collection was recently purchased and the new owners are looking for a different venue.

People couldn't imagine Cirque and the Beatles together either. That was a match made in the sky with diamonds!
An Elvis themed Cirque has very interesting possibilities.

Received a reply e-mail today from Sue, the President of the Viva Las Vegas! Elvis Fan Club. For anyone who is interested, here is a link to the club, including links to Elvis Tribute Artists (ETAs) who perform in and around Vegas:

my sister and i went to the elvis-a-arama last year.we had a great time.we had a voucher that had $3 off the price.there is some great memrobillia in there.you can get a shuttle from your hotel to take you free of charge.the live show was fantastic,we really thought it was elvis before he walked on the stage,we saw johnny edwards,he was great, but others say sonny is better.if youre lucky you may see a co-star from an elvis film.we also had our photo taken with johnny at the end of the show.it was well worth the money.we also got an elvis beanie teddy bear that was a free gift as we went in which is lying nicely on my bed.im really glad we went before it closed.i hope to go to gracelands next year some time.im in vegas this december with another of my sisters.i cant wait to get there.

I ran into Donny by the shops at the IP last May. Got a nice hug and kiss while my girlfriends laughed and said, "Does she know ALL of these guys (Elvis Tribute Artists)?" LOL. Johnny Edwards is okay, but Donny Edwards (no relation) is much better. His website includes video and his schedule: http://www.donnyedwards.net. Donny was one of only three Elvis Tribute Artists asked by Elvis Presley Enterprises to do a show in Memphis this year during Elvis Week. The others were Irv Cass from Michigan and Shawn Klush (http://www.shawnklush.net) from Pennsylvania. Donny is one of my favorites at performing the "young Elvis." Another is Brandon Bennett http://www.elvismyway.com, who performs regularly in Las Vegas. Brandon had been at The Stardust and Sam's Town. Donny doesn't have the Elvis-a-Rama now, and Brandon won't have the Stardust. They both have such incredible talent though that their long-term success is guaranteed. Check their websites for schedule updates. Shawn Klush is my favorite for the "jumpsuit years." He doesn't perform in Las Vegas, but does travel. You might want to check his schedule. Another Vegas ETA is Trent Carlini, who is currently working on his new show and an updated website.
