We've been on three trips to Harrah's in Vegas this year. We find the slots virtually impossible to stay with due to the lack of payouts. Card games, like blackjack, are paying out less on blackjacks, restrictions on splitting a second pair, and more decks in play are NOT to the player's advantage, but to the casino. Not to mention that is one plays less than $25 at blackjack and looses a few hundred, they don't track your play (lost wagers) for comps, further aggravating the experience.
In short, play at Harrah's is getting worse, especially for the slot players. Harrah's is only concerned with making money so they can buy more casinos.
Note: When we left, the airport slots were paying out better and more often than they were at Harrah's. Imagine that!

I have never won a dime at Harrahs either.....quit trying years ago. SO many people love the place though. I figure for some reason my MoJo just doesn't function so well in there!;)

I agree. Last time there I couldn't find less than a $15 table ON A WEEK DAY.

I played at Paris, owend by H.E.T. I did not win anything, it sucked my money out of my wallet.
When I walk out of the casino, the sound goes away, when I am near the casino door, I can hear the vaccuum again.
The slots are getting tighter and tighter, are there any casinos that pay better? like Boyd's, or Terribles?

What a difference a coast makes....Can't wait to get to Vegas for the loose slots. We live near A/C where the slot payout is in the low 80's on average, with Vegas slots on average in the 90's.

T-3 days 14 hours- Paris here we come!!!

Hubby and I have been to the Caesars boat in Indiana at least 5 times in the last month. The only time the slots give back anything at all is when the place is sooooo crowded that you can hardly find a machine. We used to go quite a bit when the boat was still a Caesars property, and we managed to win decently most of the time. Since Harrah's has taken over, the slots are tighter and table limits higher. Single deck Blackjack is terrible. Now that 3-Card Poker is machine dealt, it is much harder to win at that. We are heading for Vegas the first of December for a slot tourney at the Flamingo and to check Caesars out although we will be staying at the Flaming (our casino host moved over there). We plan to go to Binion's too and hope that the slots are a little looser there and that the table limits are lower.

CatJam, I agree. We live 15 mi. from Caesar's Boat and used to go there 2-3 times a week. Occasionally, we would win. No more! We go there rarely now. It doesn't appear that they will miss our business, the place is always crowded and slot machines hard to come by. On a recent road trip to South Dakota we stopped over at Harrah's St. Louis and Horseshoe and Harrah's in Council Bluffs--both were better than the Indiana boat.

The comps are not bad for machine players. But the fun has gone out of it at most Harrah's properties (never could win a thing at LV Harrah's) since the payback is nil.

We were disappointed on our last trip to LV in June to find that most ALL casinos (even the locals casinos, Sam's Town for instance) had really tightened up. Sucked us dry in no time at all.

Good Luck in the future!

I think the winning and the tight slots are all in our heads. When that RNG stops and the bars line up it's all just a stroke of luck.

I play regularly at Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon. I go 6 to 8 times a month. I can go 10 times in a row and watch the money get sucked up, and then hit rather well the next few times. The machines certainly aren't being cranked up and down all the time. It's just plain luck...most of it dumb luck! :)

I hope I have that luck tonight, as I'm headed out there right after work!

We leave tomorrow for Vegas 10/1/06 and I can honestly say neither me or my husband have really done much in Vegas in the past 5 or 6 years. It gets so discouraging. We have won more at the Blue Chip in Indiana and Fort Apacha casino outside of Phoenix. All casnios around the country have become GREEDY. It is rare for someone to hit something big. The last I heard the penny slots had a jackpot somewhere around $48 million, now this is rediculous, I hope it's just waiting for me.....Sherry (the dreamer)
