My trip was from 9/5 to 9/9 ,just a short stay to try my luck in a video poker tournament. Flew Northwest from minn./ St. paul and despite the ongoing strike and other financial problems the flight was on time with no problems.Stayed at the Rio as that is where the tourn. was held. This being my first vp tourn. really didn't know what to expect. I have been to other Harrah's slot tournaments, the invite kind with 350 or so participants and felt I had a chance, but there were over a thousand people in this one so my expectations weren't very high. Just the fact that we had to stand in line just to register (over 35 min.) had me wondering what thmy chances would be , but someone has to win. Don't get me wrong I like Harrahs/Rio but will read the fine print next time. As far as the rest of my gambling I had one of those trips where your wins and loses are acouple of hundred bucks either side of even until my second to last day when I walked to the Palms. My luck went the right way here as I won on almost everygame I played ,Deuces twice on .25 FPDW, Aces twice on $1 DB heck I even cashed out $250 on a .05 Clint Eastwood. As for dining I went to the All-American Grill at the Rio which is always excellent, and the buffet at the Rio, that also is great especially with $5 off coupons passed out at Harrahs. Another of my favorites is Arriva at the Gold Coast if you have achance check it out, good food at good prices. Overall my trip was great (aren't LV trips always).and where else can one go on vacation pay for the whole trip and still have $1800.00 more than you went with. Viva Las Vegas.
