My wife and I left Philadelphia on August 20 aboard an American Airlines flight. The flight was great with a stop in Dallas and then on to Las Vegas. We stayed at Harrahs and couldn't have been more happier. The room was great and the people were friendly. We stayed in the Carnaval tower because of what I read about all of the noise into the morning you get in the Marti Gra Tower from the Carnaval Court. We did win on a couple of penney machines the first day, but other than that we really had no luck at Harrahs. We did well at the Imperial Palace. My wife hit a nickel machine for $250 and I also hit quite a bit on a MIB penney machine there. We went up and down the strip trying our luck in all of the different casinos, but not with much luck. My wife did hit again on a penney machine at the stratsphere for $125. We mainly traveled via the monorail, which was really a great timesaver. With a station at Harrahs, it made it very convient. We spent a day downtown and managed to break even that day. We went to the Rio one night and had the world buffet and it was outstanding. We saw Momma Mia at Mandalay Bay and also Celine Dion at Caesars and both shows were definitely worth seeing. We spent a whole day on a raft trip down the Colorado river. We got on the raft at the base of the Hoover dam and traveled downstream for 11 miles. The scenery was spectacular. We also saw Bighorn sheep high up on the sides of the cliffs. We left (too soon) on Saturday August 27 and once again the flight home was smooth. We had a great time in Las Vegas despite not winning much, but just coming back after not having been here for 5 years was exciting and we had a good time and that's what we came here for. One more thing, we did go to the Wynn and actually did well there on the nickel and penny slots. The place is beautiful, and it reminds me a lot of the Borgata in Atlantic City.
