My buddies and I are flying out this morning for a 4 day stay in LV. I've been gitty all week, and ofcourse the night before, I got about 3 hours sleep. Does anybody else feel like an 8 year old on Christmas eve the night before their Vegas trip?

We agree! And I think the planning and anticipation are an important part of the fun. I get really hyper with it - dinner reservations, show reservations done before we leave. We're going in 4 weeks, and we can't wait.

Have a great time - and good luck!

Hope

We leave in about 5 weeks. You are correct, the closer it gets the anticipation rises. Starting now and especially the week ahead, I try to check all online information to make sure we don't miss anything. Read all the trip reports you can to see whats going on. Looks like I'll be busy the next month. :)

Yes the anticipation is great and the drive there goes by in a heart beat. But I will tell you coming home the drive seems like it takes forever. Because you have been on a Vegas high all weekend. :)

Yes, we are on the countdown now - fly out in about 16 hours. I know I will get little sleep tonite - just toooooooo excited! Paris here we come! We usually stay 4-5 days & doing a week this time - does it get better than that?? I don't think so - we have 2 of our daughters & their hubbys & other friends going - I have a feeling this is going to be a wild one! Good luck everyone. :)

We're going on the 8th annual all-man trip October 7. My compadres and I have been anticipating and planning for better than a month, and we started the official countdown this week. I suspect an outsider would think I'm acting like a ten-year-old waiting on the county fair to arrive, and perhaps I am. . . . . .

My hubby and I are going to LV in Nov. and we can't wait til the time arrives. We have all our shows booked, restaurants reserved and we know what we're packing. We visit LV 1-2 times per year and we love it. We usually go without our teen daughters, but we brought them last year and they loved it! Go figure...LOL! We go every Oct./Nov. to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and sometimes we go in Apr/May too. I'm drawn to Vegas's lights like I am to diamonds!! Can't get enough!

I leave next Thursday too! I am SO excited to get out there. I feel like a kid at Christmas time! We have friends going with us this year to watch the renewal of our wedding vows next Friday :) :) :) . Viva Las Vegas!

We go on average 3 times a year and every time I get so gitty about it. LOL @ the comparison to kids on Christmas Eve! That is EXACTLY what it is like! LOL! I get X-mas Eve three times a year though! LOL! When we don't have a trip in the plans I get Vegas fever and try to talk hubby into starting to plan our next trip. It's an obsession! He keeps trying to talk me into other vacation destinations but I rarely give in. Where else can you drink 24 hours a day and gamble so much and eat fantastic food? I havent' found anywhere that compares to Vegas!!

The anticipation is killing me, can't wait for the next few weeks to be over. We are in Vegas Oct. 16th - 20th. Got a great deal on flight/hotel. 1 person flys free if you choose to stay in one of the selected hotels. I chose the Excalibur for the location, sure wish this forum was up and running before I booked the trip. Now after reading some of your trip reports, the Excalibur isn't too highly recommended. Thanks everyone for the info. at least I know what to expect. And I am still excited ;)

giddy, it's a calming-soothing sense-and yes giddy you know, no matter that once you get there-whether with a group of friends or alone you are going to have a great time! Disneyworld is almost like it, but there you gotta go with someone else who'll ride the rides with you...LV you can ride all alone! Just like Christmas morning, can't believe I said that but there is just something about it..

My husband says that I am the only one that acts that way, I am so glad that I am not the only one who can't wait for VEGAS. We have been going to vegas for the last 10 years (after our Kids grew up) and we try to go at least twice a year :)

i am giddy already and i don't leave until the 4th of oct. and was just out there in july.

i, too, was one that couldn't sleep the nite before so have started booking afternoon flt. coming and going rather than morning flt. it is an hour drive ( if lucky ) from my house to either chicago airport plus you have to get there early for a long check-in which meant very early rising and no sleep. i would find myself cranky and tired and not enjoying the first day fully so thought duh! book later. solved the problem as i stay up all nite in vegas anyway and nap in daytime.

can't wait!

Yea, always too excited to sleep the night before, but it's ok...I hate flying so being exhausted allows me to sleep on the plane and wake up refreshed in VEGAS! If only they would perfect the Star-Trek Transporter: "Beam Me TO VEGAS, SCOTTY!"
