When the Forums first opened, I did have some rules about what links can or cannot be posted.
Since that time we have so many new members I just want to post them again.
1- Any individual posting of a personal link for profit is not allowed to be posted. BUT if there is a specific question that can be answered by a Forum member that leads to site that is selling something, than that will be allowed. So if I sold tickets to Las Vegas shows, I could not make a post strictly advertising that site but if someone asked, "is there a site where I can purchase Las Vegas show tickets from?", than that same link would be allowed.
2- I try to keep the newsletter and Forums seperate from each other. In doing so, I don't allow direct posting of links promoting a specific site if I use that site for newsletter information. Please do not post any news articles at The Forums. This does take away from the newsletter. There is a dramatic drop in the number of reads in the newsletter when news items are posted here.
I also have agreements with certain sources as to where their articles can and cannot be posted.
An example would be:
The American Casino Guide has a weekly feature called "Vegas Values Report" here is the link.
Since I put this info in the newsletter on a weekly basis, I don't want to have it posted in the Forums as it is a continual newsletter feature.
But as in rule #1, if that link helps in answering a question, than that link is OK to post.
3- No direct links to online casinos, poker rooms or any other online gambling site.
Other than that, keep having fun.
