Hi Steve:

Just came back from a 7 day, 7 night trip to Vegas. This was my 11th year going out and I just can't believe the changes from one year to the next! The overall trip was not good. We stayed at the Flamingo this year - bad choice. Rooms were not that clean - rugs are really stained, water smells, had to run the shower in the morning for a good 10 minutes before water got hot! One of our people in the group fell in the tub - no handicap handles in the shower at all or things on the bottom of the tub. I told her she should report it, but she didn't. Gambling was SOOOOO bad. I have never seen so many empty machines in the casinos! Out of the four of us who went, only one had any luck at all the entire week we were there. We did eat at 808 in Caesar's and boy was that good! Expensive, but good. Saw Neil Sedaka, ah the oldies, and the Scinta's at the Rio. Everyone should see them at least once. With the 2 for 1 coupon given out at the Carnival Court at Harrah's, it's well worth the price. Seems like Vegas is gearing to a much younger crowd. Got to go into Wynn Las Vegas - BEAUTIFUL! One thing I can say for Vegas - everyone is friendly. Got to listen to the Dealatainers at the Imperial - they are pretty good. What is going to happen now that Harrah's has bought them out? Overall, the trip was just okay. Our luggage was left behind in Chicago on our way home and was never delivered until 7:00 p.m. the next day. That was a bummer. Anyway, not so sure I will be in hurry to go back for the 12th year - getting very expensive. Spoke to a shuttle driver on the way to the airport and she said that a survey was taken on the people who gamble. She said that only 2% percent of the people are winning. From the way those machines were hitting, I can believe it. Lots of table games there, so if you are one of those players, you have quite the choice! But, I am glad that we had safe trips to and from and it was great to see the shows and sites. Good luck to all who are waiting to get there!
