A lot of my Vegas information sources are listing where a lot of celebrities hang out at night or where they go after shows, parties, sports events etc.

Would this be interesting reading?

Hey Steve,

I'll read just about ANYTHING about Las Vegas!

What I think would be nice is an area to post vacation pictures by user name. There could be a limit on how many photos can be posted, and of course they would have to be approved by you first. Maybe you could even feature a photo of the week with the newsletter. Just a suggestion!

Great Idea. It's fun to go see who you can see.Plus there's a lot of great entertainment in some of the places where you might spot someone like Stirling Club......so if no one is there, at least you still have a good time!!!

It may be a wonderful idea for some, but personally, I don't want people to know where I hang out - I need my privacy.

I usually read the same information online in Norm's column a few times a week in the RJ, but posting it on this website or as a link in the newsletter would be of interest.

I also like the idea of a link to trip photos as well. Maybe Steve could run a contest for best 2006 trip photos with a prize(s) of a 2007 ACG offered.

I believe Hunter put up a link to post photos at his site. We did have a lot of requests for a photo section but it is very hard to do which is why Hunter posted an alternative way to do this. You can also access the photo page by going to http://www.everythinglv.com and on the right towards the bottom of the page, you will see the "Las Vegas Photos" link. Just click on that.

I think this would be a great idea! One of my favourite sections in the Review Journal is the section in Norm Clarke's column "seen and heard". It would be great to have that here!

Every once in a while I come across some silly comment about a shooting in Las Vegas, and complaints about how dangerous it is. Nonsense! Let's hear more about how surviellence, security and the sheriff/police do good things. Follow up on crime stories, and more on how trouble was avoided, both crime and health wise. How about the safest place to have a heart attack is a Las Vegas Casino.......Every one is trained to use the AED's!

I/we generally stay and play downtown and have never seen a problem.

Just wanted you to know that a family member of ours just experienced his first trip to LV......stayed at the Sahara for 2 nights...and his room was robbed while they were sleeping there the first night! They took his wallet, her purse, credit cards, cash, and everything in them needless to say! The Sahara was most uncooperative with any help at all. Upon talking with Security and getting NOTHING from them, they asked to speak to a hotel Manager; they were told there probably wasn't one on site. Yeah - whatever! They told them the police wouldn't care.....it happens all the time....so they didn't report it to them. The hotel security people told them there was no way to know who used a key to access a room as there was no way to track them (more lies as those keys ARE coded with MUCH information we found out.) They informed them there are no cameras in the hallways to see what is going on at any time in their hotel. Interesting to say the least, don't you think? They had to stay there one more night before they left LV....I doubt I would have! Upon check out, there was not so much as a mention of "SORRY" or a "comp" even for at least one night! I admire them for their ability to try and forget the bad stuff...the inconvenience....the loss, and try to enjoy the rest of their vacation. (That's what youth does for you we have decided.) Upon returning to LV the following Friday to see us there, they stayed at the ORLEANS since we had booked there ourselves earlier in the summer. The ORLEANS was most gracious, assured all of us (there were 3 couples in 3 rooms) of their security...and were so very pleasant to all of us. We asked them if they can see who goes into a room with a key - they told us MOST DEFINITELY! (I suppose this is why NO ONE should EVER EVER leave those magnetic keys with the hotel after visiting...we found out talking with a security man that they are coded with your SS #, your credit card number and all sorts of personal data! In this day of so many people having their identity stolen, TAKE THOSE CARDS HOME WITH YOU!!!!!! Shred them...or put them in a memory book if you make those.) The police report got filed that day of our check-in at the Orleans...and since returning home, our son-in-law has been offered a credit to his credit card for one night at the Sahara from the management. As I see that gesture, it's a mini token just way too late. We will NEVER again stay at the SAHARA....we will never again gamble there...and never again so much as set foot in their establishment. For them to disregard their patrons safety so much, is incredulous! It wasn't like they were getting a free room there...they were paying well over $125 a night for a standard room. (Which for the strip doesn't seem like much maybe - but we ARE talking the Sahara!) The Orleans has a complimentary shuttle to take people to the strip for those of you who don't know it or who don't rent a car while in LV. The hotel is excellent -- the beds are wonderful....the food is great...there are many many things to do there....the concerts are fantastic usually! We have never had a bad room...a bad concert...or any bad experience there. We highly recommend the hotel to anyone....anytime! Have safe trips to LV and GOOD LUCK! ;)

We've stayed at the Sahara many times, always in the Tangiers tower. As far as I remember, our rooms had the latch you could fasten from the inside which prevented the door from being opened while you occupied the room. Evidently all the rooms or towers do not have this feature. Sorry for your family's misfortune. Pretty scary that someone would chance entering an occupied room to rob the patrons.:(

Sure would be fun to see where they are hanging out and what they are gambling on - maybe they can give all ELV Forum members a few chips to use

Sorry. I would have answered you sooner, but we just got back from a four-day LV trip. Insight into my LV attitude might be gained by reading my post answering the Members Corner question, "Why We Go To Vegas."

More specifically, we have little regard for the celebrities that frequent rowdy parties, get drunk, marry someone on a whim and then get a quick divorce or annulment. We see more than enough of their overexposed, overpaid faces in the media. Now, I guess you hate me. My redeeming factor should be that it doesn't offend me for the subject to be there for you to read.

I'm not into tv-movie type celebs, but lots of people like to follow their escapades. On the other hand I am a BIGsports fan and can see myself getting excited over running into Big Pappi or Tom Brady
