Hi Steve~ Just came back from a week in the most fabulous city in the world!! Arrived on Saturday and stayed with my sister for the night, she lives in Henderson. Went to Sam's Town Billy Bob's steakhouse- my steak was supposed to be medium, overcooked, I should've said something, but I didn't. Sister and husband's meals were perfect, our's were not. BBQ sampler (4 play) not so good. Pretty dissapointed, especially for the price. Sunday went to Ricardo's mexican restaurant for lunch, then checked into the Aladdin. No problems, nice room, HUGE bathroom, good "mountain view". Great housekeeping! Room has safe, also great. Pool is very nice, but it does take until 9:30 am until the sun hits it. Location... Sunday evening, ate at the Eiffel Tower restaurant. Don't go there with sandals on if you're a man, they make you buy their $9 socks in the gift shop, or you won't get in. Food was good quality, but not a very good selection. Only lobster was Thermadore, sauce too sweet and $55, A LA CARTE!! Filet was good, but again $47 A LA CARTE!! $8 for a dang potatoe! Yikes!! Great front row view of the Bellagio fountains though so all was not lost. Monday went on the Lake Mead Dinner Cruise~ Great food, salmon and prime rib, well worth the price of the cruise $44/each. Perfect weather and perfect sunset! Highly recommended. Hacienda casino nearby has $1 craps, that was lots of fun!! Tuesday, after an overdone steak at Billy Bobs, and saucy SWEET lobster at Eiffel, I still needed my awesome Vegas Lobster tail so we went to the Broiler at the Palace Station. Perfect! Petite filet and lobster for me and filet & king crab for my husband, excellent! Best all trip! Wednesday~ picked up 3 friends at the airport and ate at Ricardo's Mexican restaurant again, (formerly in MGM, now on West Flamingo) EXCELLENT mexican food!! Thursday ate the Aladdin Buffet for breakfast. Excellent also. Didn't eat again until 10 pm at the pizzaria at Circus Circus. Good Pizza! Friday McDonalds at MGM (what were we thinking?) Gambling went okay, won some, lost some, but had a blast doing it. Our friends had all the luck! Black or Red on roullette pays tops when you get that "feeling". What an exciting city!! Went to V the Ultimate variety show at the V theatre at the Aladdin. We met this really nice guy at the Casino Royale playing craps, who happened to work at the V theatre. He comped us 5 free tickets, it was sooooo excellent, show was hillarious and stunning! Thanks again, he knows who he is!! Went to see Larry G. Jones at his last night at the Plaza (he moved to the Fitzgerald), very fine performer! Lots of drama downtown!! But always an experience. I LOVE LAS VEGAS!! My favorite hotel to stay in is LUXOR; Mandalay Bay has best pool; Excalibur has best gambling; and Palace Station has best steak & seafood house. Didn't get to Wynn, but the view from the front is not so impressive. What's with the giant mountain that belongs in Montana, maybe some palm trees would make it more appealing, maybe knocking down the whole mountain would be better. I don't get it, blocking the view of that beautiful building. Maybe next trip we'll get inside. If you want to see the TI show, get there at least 30-45 minutes early, it gets so packed, we couldn't get on the bridge to see it. Saw the Mirage volcano, more drama, man passed out, we think from the heat. He was okay though~ pretty scary! Thanks for your newsletter!! I get jealous every time you and Eileen go, it is just so much fun, can't wait till we can go as often as you do! Already thinking about next trip. Hope you all get some good tips from my awesome trip, good luck on all yours.
