We went to Las Vegas May 8th - 12th to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. We left the Denver airport very early on Sunday, May 8th and arrived in Las Vegas at 7:45am. We booked our rooms at the Imperial Palace through Bob Cohen. He is wonderful - just like everyone on this list says. We left our luggage with the concierge as it was way too early to be able to check in. My parents were staying at Harrah's next door so we went over there and left stuff in their room that we didn't want to leave with our luggage. We played slots for awhile at Harrah's and then walked to MGM. Some of our party didn't want to walk so they took the monorail. This was my daughter's (Meghan) first present of the day - she wanted to have her picture taken with the lion cub. It opened at 11:00am and the line moved very quickly to get your picture taken. It was $20. She loved it! We had reservations at the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Definitely make reservations ahead if you know where you want to eat. There was a huge line and it was great to be able to walk past everyone and get right in. The waiters all sang to Meghan and gave her a special dessert because it was her birthday. We shopped at the Coke and M&M store before walking back to the IP. We were able to get into our rooms then. It was so nice to go through Bob. We were able to go to VIP check-in. We didn't have to wait at all. There were long lines everywhere else for people trying to check in. He had all of our player cards and everything ready for us when we checked in.

Sunday night we went downtown. We wanted to go to the Larry G. Jones show but we got there too late. We played slots at the Fitzgerald, Plaza and Lady Luck. At the Lady Luck they advertise that if it is your birthday your can see their show Ovation free. We asked about it and they said Meghan could have two free tickets. She told them there were 4 other people with her and what would it cost for them to see the show too. The woman told Meghan to talk to the casino host and he came over and met with her. He was so nice to her. He gave all six people free tickets plus he gave each of us two free drinks. They seated us right up front by the stage. Meghan and my mother were part of the show a lot. They announced it was Meghan's birthday to everyone in the audience. The show was really good - we would highly recommend it. The Real Brothers singing group was our favorite. If it's your birthday while you are in Vegas - you can't beat a free show. We would definitely recommend you go to the Lady Luck.

Monday - May 9th - Since this is Meghan's first trip to Vegas we did a lot of sightseeing things. We went through the car museum at Imperial Palace first. Then we went to the tiger exhibit at the Mirage. Then to Caesar's and the Forum shops and watched the fountain shows there. We ate lunch at Planet Hollywood. In the afternoon we took a taxi to Hard Rock and played slots. We ate supper at the Pink Taco. From 5-7pm the appetizers are 1/2 price and the beer and margaritas are 2 for 1. We all love appetizers so we ordered several different kinds and it was a great supper and cheap! When we left Hard Rock we took a taxi to the Riviera. We walked to Circus Circus and Slots-A-Fun and then down to the new Wynn. The Wynn was very pretty and packed. We walked back to IP. We played slots at every casino we went into.

Tuesday - May 10th - We went to the Rio today and watched the Masquerade in the Sky show and ate at the buffet for lunch. Went back to IP in the afternoon and headed to the Venetian and all the shops. We went to Treasure Island and watched the Sirens of TI show. We ate supper in the deli at TI. It was very good and a lot of food. We then went to the Aladdin, Paris and Barbary Coast. We shopped for a long time at Sephora. My daughter loved all that makeup! We played at the Casino Royale for a long time that evening and then at IP.

Wednesday - May 11th - We played slots at IP and Harrah's and then ate lunch at the buffet at Harrah's. We went to the Mac King comedy/magic show. It was excellent. We walked to the Flamingo and went through the Wildlife Habitat. It is so nice and peaceful and pretty. You can hardly believe you are on the strip. We would recommend it as a nice little break in your day. We went to the Bellagio and saw the botanical gardens and the chocolate fountain at the bakery. We went on to the Monte Carlo, Boardwalk, New York New York, Excalibur, Luxor and Tropicana. We ate supper at the Calypso coffee shop at Tropicana. We watched the Air Play show at the Tropicana. It is always good. We went back to the IP and Meghan and I walked over to the Margaritaville store to buy some presents.

Thursday - May 12th - We have to leave today even though no one wants to. We stayed at the IP and played slots until noon and then we checked out and left for the airport.

The best anyone did playing the slots was at Casino Royale. My mom won $600 on the Terminator penny machine. We don't play much more than the penny or nickel slots. My daughter really enjoyed Vegas and seeing everything she could possibly see. There really is a lot of inexpensive things to do. We would have liked to have seen more shows but we just ran out of time. This way we have things to do the next time we get to go. May was a perfect time to go, the weather was wonderful - mostly high 70's, low 80's.

I enjoy everyone's trip reports. We are going in December for the NFR. Thanks for listening.
