With the news about Westward Ho closing, has anyone heard anything mentioned about the fate of Slots-O-Fun? These are very close neighbors, even though SOF is owned by Circus Circus.

I spoke to a Casino Supervisor friend of mine who works at Slots-Of-Fun three days ago and she said nothing about it's closing.

Ah the good ole slots of fun. Everytime we go , we leave with a fairly good glow. They have that bank of 5 cent progressive VP at the back which you can play on a $20 for a good while. Good spot for the cocktail lady who comes buy quite often!!!! Sometimes she'll bring 2 just in case she can't make it back quick. Love that girl!!!! Then there's the bank of coin in only VP but is so hard to get on them.Machines must be 20 years old or more.

Ah, greaseball, you brought back memories. I know exactly what you're talking about at SOF. I'm going to LV tomorrow and can hardly wait to see the old place - one of the few left on the Strip. We visit SOF every time we go, sure would miss it - it's one of a kind!

Yea, the good ole days. :) Back in the early 90's, we stayed at Stardust on our visits. We would make the rounds of slot pulls. Over to Silver City to try luck on big video poker machine. Then onto Riviera to do our daily pull on their slot machine. Cross over to Circus Circus and ride the mono rail back and forth to get their fun/coupon book that had a free slot pull in it. (Circus Circus at that time had 3 slot machines thru out the casino to try your luck with your free pull). Next to Slots of Fun to do that slot machine. Go to Westward Ho and try our luck on their BIG slot machine that they pulled outside on the sidewalk. Then back to Stardust with our loot.

Sorry I'm late, just found time to sign up for the forum. You brought up some good old memories and a question.. I started going to LV in 1994 and have gone back every year since. You could always depend on picking up a few hundred on the Circus Circus {Carosel?} and the bank of machines near check-in at Ballys. These areas are gone or almost gone, does anyone know where to pick up some easy cash these days?

If by Carosel at Circus-Circus you mean the area of slots that rotates that area is still there as of my last visit. If it's gone it happened recently.
