upgrading at the venetian is probably not too practical since all rooms are suites. but, upon checking in at any hotel, it doesn't hurt to ask if they have any comp upgrades. especially if you have a player's club card. also, be sure to book your rooms on line as the best prices are on the internet at the hotel's own website.
enjoy. andrea from las vegas

I wanted to be upgraded from the standard suites to the Venezia tower, all I did was ask, and she put me into the new tower. I did tip her $20.00 for that. PS. even though the room was nice, it it too much of a hassle to take the elevator up and walk through another registration area to get to your room.

I've stayed at all except Stratosphere. Ask for a room in the pyramid at Luxor, just for the novelty. The outside wall of your room is on a face of the pyramid and sloped. The elevators travel along the inside edges of the pyramid, a unique experience of not going straight up and down. Orleans is off strip and offers nice rooms for generally lower rates than you will find on the strip. Orleans does offer a free shuttle to sister casino Barbary Coast on the strip. If Orleans loses favor due to its theme city New Orleans being ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, you should be able to get some really nice room rates. Excalibur has an exciting castle setting, but I prefer either Orleans or Luxor.

LUXOR is fun. Remember, if you don't stay in the pyramid, you haven't
stayed at the LUXOR.
The Orleans is good too (it's more of a big locals place)
The other two..........................never a consideration.

You asked about thoughts about staying at the Orleans later this year.
I highly recommend it. A fine hotel, with big, clean rooms and low room rates. I'd recommend you have a car if you go there, though.

I have stayed in both the rooms are basiclly the same the difference is the view and you can check in at the venezia instead of out front. there is a swimming pool and a great garden view. they have their own resturant too. I am going back in oct and have booked the venezia again I am being comped for four nights. just my two cents worth.have stayed at ballys must have gotten old room everything in it was falling apart. spilled soda on bed asked for sheets, they brought them but I had to change them myself(I didnt mind) but as much as they charged. I will not stay there again.

I'm fairly sure that if you ask for the upgrade and give a $20 tip (which is always appreciated by the desk clerks ) you will get your requested upgrade

Before you hand them your $ for an upgrade, just try asking. Alot of times if they have an upgrade available they will give it to you.

Always stay there on every trip.
Can get room for $100 per night on some nights between now and December.
The suites are the same and access to and from casino and sports book is much easier from the standard tower compared to the Venezia tower - I don't think the Venezia is worth it and the only difference is they give you an USA Today on your door in the Venezia.
See you along the canal

TI Tower Room
Hi,
When I check in at the TI I just request a corner tower room. I always get one facing the strip and looking out the side of the room over the Volcano at the Mirage. The corner rooms are quite large compared to the other rooms.
Good luck. You will love the room. Call them and ask for one before you get to Vegas. They can't guarantee it but they put it down for your request and usually honor the requests.
