Mon 5/29 9:05 out of Newark on Continental...arrived 11 a.m.LV...express checkin from airport to ExC..bypassed the looooong taxi line and treated myself to a limo...arrived hotel .. in the room in 2 minutes...had queen deluxe on 2nd floor, 2 beds, table 2 chairs and sofa , coffee table...usual 30 second unpack and then to casino floor...scouted out the machines and tables, kind of crowded , but its the holiday. decided on lunch first at the coffee shop ( usually a coffee shop diner when alone )..played some dollar slots, one dollar at a time, testing the waters, didn't do too much of anything so vid poker for the rest of the afternoon..grabbed a container of coffee and up to the room for some rest, dragging a little by 6 p.m.back down in an hour and tried VP again but no luck, went to quarter VP and no luck, so off to 5 cent max play on Sun/Moon machine....hit $875 (ticket out) then within 10 minutes $400 (ticket out)...uneventful misc play on various machines then spotted carousel of 2 cent machines with car as jackpot...first big hit $980 hand pay then hour later $1225 hand pay and of course 1099 form..5 reel machine-hit the red sevens with the two 7times symbols so 49 times...took the money and ran back to the room and good night to me....
5/30..after breakfast, to the pool, read the paper in the shade, getting hotter each day, on the way back to the room, see if lightning will strike twice on the 2 cent machine ( yeah,right)..walked up the strip to MonteCarlo cutting through NYNY(so noisy in there)..tried some machines I hadn't played before and noticed they had some 5$ tables open..on to Bellagio, very crowded but took in the botanicals and had a nice display of wood carvings of national monuments and notable attractions...played various and sundry machines (does anybody use that expression any more)..backto MC for some machine play, and walked back to ExC..dinner, checked out Trop but didnt play there then back to ExC for VP..sat in the lounge for a while, nice group, then called it a night.
5/31..breakfast,pool,paper, shade, that's the routine..onto Luxor and Mandalay Bay for the day..slots and VP but not doing anything at all..took a break to see the shops and restaurants..Mandalay is so big, September of 04 went to my friends sons wedding here and what a walk from the chapel to the reception room...
6/1..b,p,p,s (see above)..decided to try to find Tuscany..we were thinking of trying this for our October trip..walked heading to Ballys ( its behing Ballys, WAY behind Ballys) temperature 105 degrees and so uncomfortable so cut through Aladdin then stopped in Paris and got new rewards card , the old card was invalid..went out the back of Ballys and the valet said Tuscany was 2 blocks away...made it about half a block in the heat and turned around..so scratched Tuscany off our list...back to Paris for the afternoon, but didn't ring any bells....cooled off in the room, dinner, found a 2x,4x,5x machine that liked me for a while then called it a night.
6/2..b,p,p,s...last full day, still playing with Mondays winnings, didn't get anything near that during the week.. got onto 25 cent double VP , quad 10, quad 7 then the quad aces. cashed in the tickets then had to get a dose of Keno, 4 rounds, hit one ticket for a dollar, just gotta get that out of my system...tried some machines I had not played in the past but could not make a connection. watched some table games, I didnt play any table games at all this time, althought there were $5 table all week for Let it Ride, 3 card poker, roulette..listened to the lounge group, then ended the day..
6/3..leaving today, just the worst feeling....grabbed a container of coffee to bring up while packing..to the One Club to check comps...got cash back (covered the parking at Newark Airport).. had 2 free nights when I booked from their offer, had enough comp dollars for 2 more plus the meals I charged to the room and part of the last night. so not too bad a hit..1:30 afternoon flight back to NJ which left a few minutes late because of the weather delay back east..coming back in October with family/friends, might do ExC again but found Wynn offer(3 nights) and Paris offer (2 nights) in mail so might take advantage of those.
