Souhtwest is now booking through October 27. Don't expect any bargain fares though.

The bargains normally come later one when it comes to the flights to Vegas.

I also saw that the booking was open until October, so for the heck of it I put in dates for an imaginary trip in October and was pleased to see the rates out of Manchester still $79 one way non-stop. So I have reason to be optimistic that I will be able to get reasonably priced tickets for our real trip in December.

I went on there this morning as soon as I saw the alert and, for weekends, out of San Diego, there are no deals. I have downloaded "Ding" onto my computer and they advertise airfare sales, for limited times, that aren't available on their website. It's pretty cool. They had San Diego to LV on sale a couple of days ago but they had not yet opened past 9/12.

I purposefully avoid Southwest because of the ridiculous scheduling system. I like the comfort of having my trip in December arranged and paid for in May/June.

I disagree, the earlier you book the lower the price...then, when the sale prices are posted and, if you already have a ticket, you can get the lower fare. Or if, when the sale prices are posted and, if you're lucky and there are any seats left then you can get them at the lower price.
I know from whence I speak. :)

The only reason I tolerate with their system is that it's the only non-stop flight from here...I would do almost anything to fly direct. Besides we seldom plan that far in advance.:)

Hey Tweeets!!! If you book early with Southwest....do they credit your credit card with the amount you saved when the price is lowered or is it in "ticketless funds account"?
Thanks,

$138 each way from Nashville to Vegas...almost double from the $79 offered thru this May.
But still it's cheaper and faster than driving.
And I agree with Tweeets, I tolerate the standing in line for an A Boarding because the flight is non-stop.

I suppose I'm spoiled, being in Denver and having an insane number of options available for nonstop flights to just about anywhere. Southwest isn't that bad beyond the booking schedule... my family swears by them and Northwest.

Did you know you can now check in with Southwest 24 hours in advance of your flight and print your own boarding pass? Much easier way to get that A!
