Thrifty Car Rental Deal

I just checked back with Thrifty, through billhere.com - and their rates have come down quite a bit - base rate for mid-size is 105.00 for a weekly rate vs. 118.44 that we booked it at a month ago, so we re-booked and then cancelled the original booking. It doesn't seem like much, but with the taxes etc all then reduced minutely, the entire rental is $18.00 less, which helps pay for the gas!

We booked this for June 2 - 7, were given a weekly rate over the daily rate because it is much cheaper.

They must be running a special because the rates for mid size are the same as compact right now. Don't usually come down in price so close to rental date from my experience.

We like renting a car because we do a lot off the strip - planning on going to Red Rock Canyon and the Casino, like going to other Station casinos too - just find it easier to rent then deal with the shuttles that are available.

Hope this benefits someone else too - This just proves that it does pay to check back from time to time!! :D

Thanks! It definitely pays to shop around, doesn't it? I've booked and cancelled twice with Thrifty for my upcoming trip. Found my best deal through Alamo, using a $15 off Entertainment book coupon (minimum 3-day rental).

I found that if you put "frdm" or "local" as promo codes for Hertz, you often get great deals. Then you can combine with coupons from Entertainment Book, AAA, etc. I usually end up paying less than $22/day or $118/week including EVERYTHING--Tax and all. And their cars are cleaner than many others.

We are going the end of July, and we to always rent a car.
I was doing shopping around and found a site called carrentals.com, and was able to book an Intermediate for 16.23 a day, after taxs and such 124.54 for 5 days :) alot better than the 180-260 I was finding.

Rentalcars.com came through with a mid-size from Thrifty for $85 total for a four day rental. Very pleased!
