If you have a morning or afternoon with nothing planned, and you have access to a car, take a 1/2 hour or so drive out to Lake Las Vegas. It's off Lake Mead Parkway, in Henderson.
It's a small, but beautiful man-made lake, with several expensive hotel/casinos at the north end. Yet, you can sit around a terrace with a drink and enjoy the scenery without being a hotel guest. From what we were told last week, Celene Dion lives near Lake Las Vegas.
We stopped by the Hyatt Regency, but there are other equally as nice hotel/casinos there.
Above all, enjoy!  :)

MonteLago Casino is a great little casino with a nice variety
of shops in the outdoor courtyard...it's the casino to support
the RITZ next door.
One of the best sights out there is the sky at night...ZILLIONS OF STARS.
