How is the buffet at the Orleans?

We usually just eat at the coffee shop, but we got 1 offer with 2 free diner buffets so we plan to take them up on it.

Thanks Jacob

T minus 6 days:)

We stay at the Orleans and the buffet is always good. With the free coupon it's even better. The mongolian barbecue is really good.

I've eaten at their buffet a number of times and its pretty decent. I was only sorely disappointed once, and that was on their steak buffet night. The steak was rather tough. Besides with the coupon you've got the price is right. There are better buffets though. A few of my favs are Aladdin, Wynn & Bellagiol.

Thanks Hbaseballfan, AppleGreenJade, and jrinct1

We will have to save plenty of room, to make sure we get our moneys worth LOL.:)

We are actually going to be staying 5 nights at the Orleans. The second offer has $50 for food, so we will probably try the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and diner. Then after that is gone, use club points for the half off deal.

Thanks again Jacob

If you get a chance, try their oyster bar as well. Pretty good, if you like seafood.

Just got back and the Orleans Buffet was very good. :)

However, the Courtyard Café has gone down hill. Food comes out cold or luke warm. However, in mom's case, soured sausage gravy and biscuits that made her sick for most of the day after one bite. :(

Wonder if this is what they serve for the graveyard special, maybe they think every one is drunk and can't tell?

After reading all the possitive reviews of the buffet, Eileen and I tried it once and it was horrible. The same thing on the Main Street Station buffet and we even gave it a second chance. The food area was messy and was very unsanitary as was the buffet room itself.

I might try the Gold Coast buffet this trip before Forever Plaid as my members have given this buffet posstive reviews.

Sorry, Steve
I disagree with you. We love the Orleans buffet especially when we use those two-for-ones. At $12.95 for two it's one of the best around in this price range. If you're going to compare it to one of those more expensive ones, that's not fair. Remember, it's a buffet ... there are many very good meals; you don't have to eat everything! and you don't have to fork out the big bucks.

I guess any buffet can have an off night.

I really enjoyed the Orleans buffet for lunch last November - and my tastes run to preferring the Aladdin and the Wynn buffets!

In the spirit of you get what you pay for - but I found the food fresh, tasty, and good drink service. The only thing I did not like, it seemed like a pretty noisy place. But the real tiramisu on the dessert bar made up for it!

Now Steve - I'm sure the Gold Coast buffet is fine. But consider the Cortez Room before Forever Plaid. Fantastic food, real old-time steakhouse look - and service - red velvet, gold, veggie relish tray before dinner, fresh baked sour dough bread, and the option of a baked sweet potato for your starch.

It feels like a 50's kinda place, the perfect lead in to Forever Plaid!

I just gave my opinion based upon my experience there. I don't see anything about comparisons to more expensive buffets. The night we went there it was not good and the room looked like a hurricane went through it. I also agree that any particular buffet can be bad one time and good the next, but all I did was post my honest review of the buffet on that night. Trust me, it was not good. And by the way, we did have the 2 for 1 coupon.

I have heard wonderful things about the Cortez Room so I guess I'll decide when I get there. I may not have enough time for a formal dinner.

Hi Steve,
I was wondering if this was about 3 years ago? Before I had my place in Vegas I always stayed at Orleans or Suncoast. The buffet was always great but it did go through a rough patch about 3 years ago. I don't know if it was a management change or what but it was kinda "iffy" for about 8 months and then seemed to get back on track. I ate there in March and it was good.

I forgot to mention in my prior post that at the Orleans, on Friday, at the dinner buffet they serve unlimited crawfish. I was in heaven. :)

It could have been during that time frame.

We ate at the Orleans buffet last October. It was an early dinner, around 5:00 p.m. as we were going to see Mamma Mia at Mandalay that evening, and we wanted to take our time with dinner. Everything was fresh and clean and looked like it had just been put out to serve. My favorite is the made to order stir fry station. We are not gourmet diners but do insist on the freshness of the food and cleanliness of the places we choose to visit. We have eaten at the Orleans buffet on our last several visits and have never been disappointed.
