I have been shocked and stunned that during the Topic of the Week, I have been the only one to post the Cheesecake Factory! Is it just me or does anyone else have the fond memories of the place that I have? Is there something I don't know? I thought it was "the best"!

I believe what you are calling the "Cheesecake Factory" is know as "The Grand Lux" in Las Vegas and there are many posts about it. The Grand Lux IS owned by the Cheesecake Factory but just not called that in Las Vegas.

OMG when did it change its name? It had been the Cheesecake Factory for at least 5 years up 'till June last year!

You must have been on jet lag when you ate there :D
It has been The Grand Lux since it opened.

It was the Cheesecake Factory at least at one time. I will post a pic of me standing outside it... It DEFINATELY has the Cheesecake Factory in big red lights outside! I assume you are talking about the restaurant behind the Fall of Atlantis, next door to the old Virgin music store? I will go and have a look on my mac for the pic just now.

We always eat at the Cheesecake Factory in Caesars at the end of one of the hallways of the Forum Shops. It is a great place for families, and as we go to visit the grandkids we make sure to take them when we visit. There is also a large circular aquarium tank right across from the entrance to the Cheesecake Factory that occupies the kids while we wait to be seated, and unless you are extremely lucky there is almost always a wait, especially when you go with a group of 6-8. We love their food, their serivings are huge and we usually get by with each couple splitting a meal, the kids split the chicken finger meal, and we share some deserts too. Of course their cheesecakes are to die for, and so many different kinds that it is hard to choose. There is at least one other Cheescake Factory, I think it is in North Las Vegas, that we have eaten at twice with my son and his family. :D

I think we may have been thinking of different restaurants :)
Thanks Smmoo, I was starting to think I was imagining things or losing my mind! :)

My mistake, I thought you were referring to the Venetian but you are right about Caesars.

There is still a Cheesecake Factory at Caesars. The Grand Lux is in the Venetian. I was there in September and the Cheesecake Factory was still there!

Cheesecake Factory is indeed a good place to eat. Delicious. But they are pretty common in the states. We have one in Dallas. When we are in LV we want to eat at something different, so we don't frequent the chains, except one time we did eat at Denny's because it was very late, and we wanted something fast and cheap. So Cheesecake, Outback and other restaurants that we can go to at home are off limits as far as we are concerned.

I didn't realise it was a chain. I thought there was maybe only one or two of them. And I was wondering why no-one else was saying how great it was. :o Oh well, we don't get them in Scotland so I love it!
LOL Steve, I was seriously starting to doubt my sanity! :D

so we love the one's in Vegas, plus they are family friendly and have things the grandkids will eat, like pizza and chicken fingers. It is not too expensive either if you split meals which has never been a problem.:)

Yea. There are over 100 Cheesecake Factory restaurants in the U.S., and a handful of them operate under the Grand Lux name. Their home office is in California and there are a bunch of them located along the east coast. Florida has more than its share. They are listed on Nasdaq as CAKE.
If you are interested in reading up on them, go to www.thecheesecakefactory.com. It will tell you more that you want to know.

I have been to the Cheesecake Factory in Hawaii and it was excellent. I would like to go to the one in Caesar's but I travel with my elderly mother and I think it would be too far to walk there for her even if we stayed close by. Is it a long walk to the place once you get into the Forum Shops? I was in the Forum Shops quite a few years ago but I can't remember how big it is.

I was just looking at the Cheesecake factory website, I didn't know you could have the cheesecake shipped.......that seems dangerous.

Thanks for the link Sonntex. Guess what I'm off to do now ... ?
Hi Lindabo. The Cheesecake Factory is actually at the very end of the Forum Shops. It is a bit of a walk but my mum, who is 67, makes it. If your mum has mobility problems though I'm sure that Caesar's would provide a wheelchair or some other aid to assist your mum. There is a side door but I can't remember where it is or how to get to it - we were taken in a cab to that door last year. It would be a shame to miss it. The staff are really friendly and the food is fantastic. I hope you manage to visit :)
Hey AnnPedi614, what do you mean by dangerous? LOL :D I think in my case it would be a danger that I would order and eat FAR too much! LOLOL

That is exactly what I mean. I would order WAY too much. I am thankful in some ways that there is not a cheesecake factory near me.

Thank you Jacqui. My mom will be 89 in June and still going strong, although she did have a hip replacement at 85 so it did slow her down. She still wants to go to Las Vegas as long as she can. We still get to see a lot, just takes a little longer.

For anyone who has a Costco nearby, they sell Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes...not a huge variety, but they normally have the plain one and a chocolate or variety pack cheesecake.

Jacqui is right about the wheelchairs. I have gotten one from Caesars before. They don't cost anything. You may have to secure it with a credit card just in case you don't return it. Just go to the bell captain's desk and ask for one. I would think this would be true of any casinos.

Really? I have gotten cheesecake at Sam's several times, and it is really good, but I didn't know it was Cheesecake fare.

:) Since we don't have a cheesecake factory where we live, when on vacation, we always seek one out. Once we touch down, I'd say within a few hours we are in the Fourm shops at the CheeseCake Factory!
Huge portions, the chinese chicken salad is awesome, and life's just so sad without lemon/raspberry cheesecake!:D
