My son Elliot and his wife Mirella just called me from Oregon. She is pregnant with both Eileen's and my first Grandchild !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Eileen is gonna hit the ceiling when she comes home. Ashley is still jumping up and down!

Fantastic! We have three beautiful grandchildren. Never looked forward to being a grandma and grandpa (didn't want to get any older!) but it has been an absolutely wonderful experience.

TIP #1. Spoil them as much as you want when you visit, because then you get to go home!:D

Wow! Great news for you both! Congratulations! :D My girls are only teens right now, but the thought of being a grandparent some day in the future, makes me smile! :)

Congratulations to you both! Being a Grandparent is the BEST thing in the world. We have two grandchildren that live in Colorado Springs. Don't get to see them often enough but when we do anything goes!

;) What a thrill! I'm so excited for you and wish a healthy pregnancy for your daughter-in-law. Remember what my mom told me when I had my children - The grandkids are really hers until she spoils them rotten. Then, they are mine! Spoil them, Steve! Spoil them!

Congratulations! Being a grandparent is the best! People told us that it's a totally different relationship than we had with our own kids, and now we see how true that is.

ohhh.. too bad they aren;t closer! i have a 15 yr. granddaughter and 13 yr. old grandson and there is nothing like it! loved them when they were babies and even more fun now. as a matter of fact they both play softball/baseball and i retired early so i didn't miss any games! what fun! fortunately they live in the same town as i do.

you just won the lotto!

LOL!! Thanks for that! And actually, I'm going to be a step-grandma but WHO CARES!! I'm soooo excited!! I just love babies. I embarrass my teenage kids because I talk to all the babies we see anywhere - the supermarket, the mall, wherever. They say someday I'll be arrested for stalking babies.

You are going to love having grandkids. My husband and I are anxiouisly awaiting number 13 who will be born in Vegas any day now, since our d-i-l has been having some labor pains since Sunday. It is a different kind of relationship than with your own children, in some ways better!!! The only drawback being your kids usually live with you (ha ha) and grandkids can be all over the country like ours are, 2 in California, 2 and 3/4 in Vegas, 2 in Maine and 5 in New Hampshire and one in North Carolina.:eek:

Just heard the great news, It's the best experience you'll ever know (yes, even better than a Royal, lol). I have 2 grandson's and a step-grandaughter and grandson and Eileen it's the same whether step or not. Enjoy every minute of your miracle.

Congratulations to all of you. We'll say a prayer (if that's OK) for a healthy happy baby. We are still waiting and hoping for our 1st. Our daughter and son-in law have been trying for a baby for some time and now, so wish them luck and our son will be married in August to his sweetheart who has a beautiful little 5year old girl. So we will be instant-grandparents. Can't wait! I can only imagine how thrilled you two must be. Congrats again.:D

That is wonderful news. I know that you and Eileen will spoil that child rotten. But that's what grandparents are for:p Hopefully, one day we will be able to do the same!

Congrats to the 2 of you. Since I was never blessed to be a mother I will never be able to enjoy what you 2 are going through. I have a 23 yr old nephew which I spoil. Yes, we took him to Vegas for his 21st birthday.

This is wonderful news. My hubby and I were first time grandparents 1 1/2 years ago. Our granddaughter is the light of our life....REALLY SPOILED... but that's what grandparents get to do. Congrats again. I wish you all the best. Robbylou

Remember how beautiful your own children were? And how much smarter than your friends' children? Well just you wait. This grandchild will be ever so much more beautiful than your own, and smart? He/she'll put your children to shame.

It's amazing how you think you couldn't possibly love anyone any more than your own children, and then you have a grandchild who turns your world upside down.

We have only one, 4 years old, but he lives right behind us. We get to see him every single day and are always just as happy to see him as if he'd been away for a month.

Between trips to Vegas and trips to Oregon, you'll be racking up the frequent flyer miles.

CONGRATULATIONS! Grandparenting is the best! Have been out of the loop for past 3 weeks with the "flu" virus or the Everything Bug some of my friends have named it. Finally back to "normal?". Even had a flu shot in Oct., but not the same strain so they say.
You will love being grandparents.
