Hello! First of all I must say "Great and Informative Message Board".

I am leaving for Vegas on September 29th and staying down at the Golden Nugget this year. Previous years we have stayed at the Aladdin and the Flamingo. We always seem to enjoy Freemont Street. Anyway, is there a site to find out what bands are playing on Freemont Street on September 30th and October 1st? Last year we heard the Speaks Brothers and am wondering if they are still there?

Hubby and I are renewing our Wedding Vows for our 25th Anniversary on the 30th and then will be partying it up on Freemont Street!

there is a sax player that plays nightly on Freemont Street..his name is Carl Ferris...the name of his group is SafeSax (but his band is usually not with him).
His music is wonderful (IMO) and I have purchased each of his three CDs so that when I find myself wishing I was there which is most all the time, :D , I just play them.
Check him out when you are there...I believe he plays most nights starting about 7:30 or so...can't remember exactly which street crossroads he plays at, but it is under the canopy, and the "information booth" down there can tell you exactly where he will be.
Here is a link to his website:

Wonderboogie will be playing on the 1st Street Stage on Thursday. It is right next to the Golden Nuggget. Starts at 8:00 pm and runs until 11:00 pm

Pure 70's music, they have the crowd dancing every time!

Enjoy!

There is also a really good piano player at the end of Fremont by the Plaza.
Not sure if the entertainment is the same during the week as it is on weekends.
Last year there was an Elvis impersonator with two gorgeous showgirls walking up and down Fremont but we didnt see him this year.

Downtown can be a lot of fun.

You can go inside the Golden Nugget to the Carson Street Cafe. Good food, good prices, and great service.

Enjoy!

Thought the prices there were a little steep for breakfast. Maybe they were having a bad day but I thought the service was slow. I went in very early on a Saturday morning. The plus side is they are open 24 hours.
