We live in North La. and are Harrah's diamond members, and get nice offers from Harrah's and Rio in Vegas and from Harrah's in New Orleans.

However, to keep up our diamond membership, we are closest to Shreveport, where now there is only La. Downs and Horseshoe. La. Downs has no hotel and no table games. Horseshoe is nice, but they don't operate like the other Harrah's casinos, evidently. Does anyone know how it works? If we play at Horseshoe, will the points earned accumulate on our Diamond card or does the play strictly relate to Horsehoe? I know we can use the points for meals, but no one seems to be able to tell us (even there) what it takes to get comps there or how it relates to Harrah's overall tier level.

Thanks for any clarification.

I believe that you can earn points on your total rewards card at the Horse shoe but I am not certain

We have the same problems understanding what Horseshoe is doing. Hubby gets cash back coupons from Horseshoe with his Harrahs number on them. I get them with my Horseshoe number on them. He asked a host there what the deal was about the comps and they said you got them quicker if you used the Horseshoe card. You would get them with the Harrahs card but it took longer for them to get counted. Last time we were in Bossier City, I checked our accounts on the Harrahs website a few days later and they gave him credit for playing at Horseshoe on the last day we were there, but they did not give me credit. My credit stopped with the day before when we played at the Racino. We both play at Horseshoe with our Jack's Diamond Cards. Hubby did use his Total Rewards card once to get a meal at the Oak Creek at Horseshoe and they ran his card just like Harrahs does. So it seems that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Guess they haven't gotten all the kinks out yet??????

When in Shreveport/Bossier City we play mostly at Sam's and El Dorado. They give us better deals. El Dorado is very generous with room comps and their machines seem to be looser. Their cash back is generous as well. We pick up cash when we leave the casino and get cash coupons as well.

We just go to the Racino and Horseshoe to keep our Harrahs card active. We get a little cash back and free meal tickets. Once in a while we get a free room for midweek. I did get an invitation to the Millionaire Maker Slot Tournament at the Horseshoe and we both got invites to the one at Harrahs Racino. We are going to the one at Harrahs, but we are staying at the El Dorado!!!!
