I am a blackjack player and I average about $30 per hand. Do you think I should ask for any comps as I want them or do you think I should charge everything to my room and then at the end of my trip ask for them to see what they will take off the bill?

My .02--- Make sure you have a players club card wherever you play, next....make sure when you sit down the pit boss has your card and tracks your play.
Hint- If you see the pit boss watching it's time to increase your bet.
Good luck

That depends on where you are. If you are playing in YOUR hotel or one of its properties, providing you are not forgetting to present your card, then charge to your room, by all means. Why? Well, if you ask for your comps up front, then the floorperson will give you exactly what it says you earned on the computer screen. If you wait, charge to your room, and then see a host upon checkout, most likely that host has powers over what the floorperson has and can, and maybe will knock off more than your comp dollars says you have depending on play frequency and time at the tables. If you go to another place and play, also remembering to present your card, ask up front for obvious reasons. If I were you, and had gone to another casino, I would wait till I got back to mine to eat or whatever, so that the comp dollars just build up at that "other" place. No sense in getting a 2.99 hamburger when you can go back "home" and get a 12.99 steak for the same play. Make sense?

...oh yeah, dont forget that floor people and hosts pay attention to more than your play, and time.....do you take care of the waitress? the dealer? Believe it or not...most pay attention to that when entering your information. It adds to your buyin/loss amount.

Thanks for the tip. Had not thought about that. :)

Don't forget about the amount of time that you play. The casinos want about 4 hours per day and it doesn't have to be in a 4 hour stretch.
