Hi - We have liked the Rio buffet in the past, but have not been there in a couple of years. We understand Cravings at Mirage, Paris, Bellagio were at the top now. From reading the forum, it appears Aladdin might be hit or miss, but worth a try. Also the Strat is getting poor reviews, but we had been there last year on a Friday night and thought the seafood buffet wasn't bad for the price. We thought GVR was good the first time we went last year, but the 2nd time it seemed to go downhill;. We also heard Sam's Town is pretty good.

If you have been to the Rio, Alladin, Sam's Town or Strat buffets recently, can you give your opinions? We are visiting in April, don't want to waste or time or stomachs on bad buffets. We just want good food and good variety.

Thanks for your help, Maria

The RIO's buffet has been 'tweeked' a bit...new decoration and upgraded
areas for Platinum and Diamond players. The buffet itself seems about the
same to me...I usually don't do buffets (too much food) pluss I like my
meals HOT and served to me. I use both the RIO's buffets when entertaining friends...they're over priced a bit, but everything tastes good and theres lots
of variety. They always seem to be a popular choice!
I've alway heard good things about Aladdin's...don't know if theres any
changes yet with the switch to Planet Hollywood.
Even the Gold Coast gets good reviews for both selection, quality and price.

The only buffet you listed that we have gone to is the Rio. The food is good. However, the last few times we have been in Vegas (Oct., Dec., & Feb.) we skipped it as we have gotten a little tired of it. We did try the Sunday Brunch in Feb. and it was mediocre. Not bad, just not great. The service was not up to par IMO.

However, the Rio Seafood Buffet was excellent. The food was very fresh. Much better than when we went in October.

Anyone know where I can obtain buffet coupons for Rio and Harrah?..

Coupons for $5 off at Harrahs are usually available in the Carnival Court. Someone will be handing them out.

Don't know about Rio.

Right now, Harrahs doesn't seem to have any 2for1 Buffet coupons
up at the RIO...

Is the Village Seafood Buffet at RIO really worth the $35 per person?

I really like lobster and crab, but I never get it at resteraunts because there never seems to be enough meat in the shell to fill me up. Sees to me that an all you can eat buffet might solve that problem. But at $35 it seems like taking a cab to Bellagio or Wynn might be a better deal.

What do they offer that Bellagio, Wynn and Aladdin don't?

Let's get one thing straight. Lobster tails are NOTLobstaa's. They come from New Zeland not New England.
RED Corned Beef is NOTfound on an Irishman's table.

If you truly love seafood then the Rio Buffet is worth the price.

Here in New England we say Chowdaa and Lobstaa and this is where you get the REAL stuff AY Uh

Instead of going to the Rio and paying $35.00 go to the Gold Coast
next door and pay about $15.00. Take the $20. you saved and use
it for gambling or whatever. You will be just as full and satisified and
6 months from now you won't know the difference.

I agree with Larry that based on the price the Gold Coast buffet is a better value than the Rio. I usually stay at The Rio but for $6.45 the breakfast buffet at the Goldcoast can't be beat. I believe the Rio is around $12 for breakfast

Just got back from Vegas last week. Had Sam's town breakfast buffet. They have an omelet station and the usual breakfast fare. Had the Rio seafood buffet. The lobsters are what I call slipper lobsters, about 2 bites. But you can get ALL THE LOBSTER YOU CAN EAT. They were very good. Also had the Carnival buffet. Thought food was very good. Had the breakfast buffet at Gold Coast. They have a really good breakfast buffet. Gold Coast does offer alot more for breakfast than Sam's Town does. Asked about the $10 off to the seafood buffet at Rio, they said haven't had that coupon for awhile.
